Post by Seamus »

I'm thinking of getting some and was wondering how well they work.

I use resistance bands. I do overhead presses with them. They work the shoulders and triceps just as good as weights. And they'res less stress put on the joints. They're very convenient. You can carry them around and get in a nice lil workout, anywhere and anytime.

This is one of my favorite hacks for easing into push-ups or just increasing my reps! The resistance band seriously helps lift your chest

Try pull aparts, brilliant exercise for chest, back, shoulders:

yea, if you have the really thin ones - I attach those to a post and do punches with them.
Slide the band to the bottom of the post for uppercuts too.

pretty versatile really, I use them a lot for warm ups too.

yes mate, I tie them to the post on my decking and use them for resisted punches - I use the thinnest band you can get for this - looped one.

Use a slightly thicker band for 'pulling' on the punches.

for example, if I'm drilling a right cross, I'll pull on the band with my left hand as I throw it. (a coach once told me to "pull don't push" when throwing punches)

Those are absolutely amazing for warmup, using 'em in most of my drills(I've got a pair from local sports store for a few bucks, wide ones to warm up shoulders+for hip mobility drills, small ones for chest and arms).
