Eddie Mustafa definitely wins. Only question is whether it goes the distance.

Quarry goes the full 15 assuming he fights up to potential. At his best, Mike was rugged, mobile, and elusive. Musfafa had devastating punching power, but Quarry would box sufficiently well to stay out of trouble.

Final scores are probably along the lines of 11-4 or 12-3 for Mustafa, who was simply that much better as a tactical boxer.

There is the outside chance of Mustafa wining by stoppage, given his power. Eddie could coldcock any light-heavyweight with a single clean shot. He could get a TKO by busting-up Quarry's face, inflicting cuts or closing an eye. But if I had to bet on this one, my educated guess is Mike finishes on his feet.

Mustafa's laid-back fighting style is another reason why this bout probably goes the distance.

EMM by KO in about 6, it would be a mismatch.

How do you envision it? What about EMM's skills enable him to wipe Quarry out in that time frame? You don't think MQ could survive by backpedalling?

Can't see MQ moving enough to keep away from EMM to survive more than half a fight. He might look good in a few exchanges as he even did vs Foster, but this won would end around the halfway mark.

IMO, the fight you're describing is Matthew Saad Muhammad vs MQ. I could easily see the aggressive MSM finishing off Mike by the eighth or ninth.

EMM, too, would be be dominant against MQ. But the thing is, EMM fought slow-paced, cautious fights. Usually if EMM could coast and control the action with his left-jab, then he'd settle for outpointing his opponent, unless the knockout came by itself. Media and fans were impatient with Eddie for this reason.

For whatever reason, when dominating with the jab, EMM often didn't try to intensify his attack by firing body-shots, killing his foes' legs, and clinching a KO. The Marvin Johnson fight (TKO11, 1980) was an exception to this pattern.

Quarry had excellent durability and pretty good (maybe even excellent) footwork. He could run from EMM all night.
