Open minded to new season. And/But

Post by BoxBuzz »

I truly believe all the kinks that took the steam out of last season regarding tech stuff is behind us.

So a 25 Season Run is my hope/plan for the immediate future. LHW/WW with each manager getting a fighter from each division in a lottery fashion.

I have a pristine copy of the software and and THE MIGHTY UNIVAC world's #1 renowned simpug computer system, (the very one that pitted Marciano against Ali in the very first simulated event). It comes with it's own abacus and a well trained mouse on a rotary wheel for state of the art speed and accuracy. (Cheese donations accepted for our celebrity volunteer Mr Mighty Mouse)

I would hope for at least 10 participants willing to independently manage their fighters come rain or come shine. Folks could probably be successful if they planned on dropping in once a week, as I would attempt to go by a schedule...and only speed up when the opportunity arises...putting little pressure on the managers.

Also...Now that Crease has become a Pizza delivery mogul, his time is limited and can not assist...though perhaps he will participate if we get organized and running.

I can run em, and post em with the best of em. But I would like to outsource the job of cutting, pasting, posting the outcomes and upcoming fights. I can go as fast or as relaxed as my partner/s in crime would wish to go.

And I'm in no hurry....Once we have a volunteer we could discuss how to proceed. Or...If I can figure out how to do that job on my own I may take it forward...but I have to research the process a bit first. So lookin' like August.

That is all

I'd be interested in rejoining. The loss of data killed my motivation to finish out the last season. Not sure if I can update the schedule every week, but can definitely help somebody else along that is doing it. I can also help remind people, log picks, etc with the draft as I always do.

It does seem to have all the bugs worked out. I've quietly tested it past 100 events with no issues. So......

If there is an interest, and a volunteer or two.....I'm game.

I could probably make events happen at a brisk pace....OR scheduled weekly.

One card per week would work for me, like we did in the olden days. Leaves more time for trash talk etc, plus it’s less of a demand on the commissioners.

The very last version of 2.5 is fine. But the newest version....well, no one I have talked to has had much luck with it. Fraught with oddities, and seems unstable.

I haven't had too many issues with the newest version the little I have used it. Though I could just be missing the bugs, not diving i deep enough.

You'd be wise to stick with TB 2.5.

Been almost 10 years since I was last involved in the SIM and indeed this site.,.....

Wouldn't mind another crack. Not sure who is active these days, on the boards, Crease, Geto, Boxbuzz, Kevo.....ah the nostalgia.

There is a part of me still yearning for redemption.......Homicide Hank......losses on cuts to CPU journeyman was not the way to go......still irks me, to this day.... :brick:
