Tick, tick, tick, tick....
What a strange period of time for heavyweight boxing. Wilder seems to be messing about with Ruiz, Fury's Dad is now talking up Fury vs Jon Jones after the incoming Ngannou mismatch, and Dubois, who lost virtually every minute of every round against Uysk, wants a rematch.

And the company that want to put on the AJ vs Wilder and Uysk vs Fury double header have gone very quiet.

Let's hope that sensible negotiations/discussions are going on behind the scenes.

Hearn gave an update 4 days ago in a Boxing Social interview. Said a trip to Saudi might be on the cards this week.

Thanks. Here's hoping it leads to a great night of boxing.

Bellew - hardly the greatest source admittedly - claiming :

“I've heard rumors that talks between Joshua and Wilder's reps have broken down now, and AJ's team is focused on him fighting Fury. There is talk of a meeting taking place in Africa, and that would be absolutely incredible. Another ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ in Zaire or something like that."

Speaking to Boxing Social, Hearn assessed the many rumours around potential heavyweight fights.

“If you read Twitter it’s ‘AJ-Wilder might not happen, it might be AJ-Fury, Fury might fight Usyk or Usyk might fight Hrgovic’. To be honest, any of those things are possible, that’s the reality of the situation.”

“Our fight with Wilder hasn’t changed in the last three or four days since we sat down. Are there conversations about Fury-AJ? Not really. Would Saudi be interested? Yeah, I think so.

From my position, we want to just try and nail the Wilder fight. The Wilder fight is the one we’ve been talking about for a few months now and we want to try and progress it.”

“AJ Wants to fight, he’s really enjoying the activity. If he can’t fight in January I think I think you’ll see him in December. But still, our intention is to close the Wilder deal.”

Genuinely amazed that anyone listens to what Eddie Hearn speculates about rather than announces.

About a month ago he reached his peak when he said he was just about to announce a full schedule through to December that was the best he'd ever put together.

There are two fights that I'm looking forward to from the 8 events that have been announced, Wood Vs Warrington and Bam Vs Sunny.

Hearn's 2 to 3 weeks now in week 4 and the Saudi yawn just rolls on.

Hey, you edited your '1 to 2 weeks' quote post to agree with what I'd said it should have been. Fffs, what was all the fuss about? :maybe:

Looks like Saudi are finished with boxing..

Hearn already said he'd like it at Wembley or Las Vegas.

Greedy Belly killed big time boxing in Saudi.

Time to take it back to the fans.
Fwank still has an unused Wembley voucher left over, maybe Hearn can buy it from him cut-price?

The football investment is actually giving them money back.

Since Ronaldo went over.. They've signed big TV deals.

DAZN, FOX, Canal etc.

I don’t think they have any money issues.
As I understand it, they intend to ‘buy sport’ but are going through some internal power struggles.

boxing is probably too much of a niche to be a great investment vs football etc .

Let them ditch it and then at least we may get back to some semblance of normality where a fight can be made without totally outrageous expectations of revenue .

Yeah - I’m hoping for that too. The Saudis have massively slowed down the heavyweight division unfortunately.
