good win for the winner, good historic title, and 2 global rankings. I pick/hope Wardley wins. I do enjoy watching him fight.jameswilson wrote: ↑28 Sep 2023, 12:17 Adeleye has posted the fight poster on his Instagram and it looks fairly official to me.
Commonwealth title on the line as well as WBO European and WBA international so the winner will be getting decent rankings out of it.

Hope this is on for real.
I like Wardley in this but it has the makings of a memorable scrap

I hope Wardley smokes Adeleye's boots. That was terrible behaviour at the press conference.

The undercard has a long list of good heavyweight fights. Many of which probably wouldn’t happen outside of a unique situation like this with so much spare cash because some of the names are in the who needs him club.
I’ll definitely be buying because of the undercard.

None of the bouts are listed on boxrec. Will they appear on peoples records?

good question, not sure. I know they're not BBBOC sanctioned but is another proper sanctioning body involved?jameswilson wrote: ↑15 Oct 2023, 16:46 None of the bouts are listed on boxrec. Will they appear on peoples records?

So the bookies have Fabio as a comfortable favourite here. It’s an intriguing crossroads fight…
Wasn’t Fabio hurt in one of his fights? Maybe I imagined that
I’ll be watching this one in a pub although I won’t stick around for the main event sparring session. I didn’t watch his last last fight either.

The show is sanctioned by the BBBofC - it's on their website under British Championship notices.
I don't know if that includes the "main event", as can't see how they could justify sanctioning the best heavy in the world vs a debutant with no boxing experience...

I think Wardley is close to his ceiling already, the Gorman fight was entertaining but also an eye opener.
I wouldn't be surprised if Adeleye came out of this with the W, but I don't make him favourite.

Fat Gorman had fast hands and caught Wardley too easily with uppers. But the power of Wardley was impressive. Gorman like a bully flopped out pretty soon under a barrage.
Way too many sceptic about Wardley, I think he takes this and I'd love for someone to put some many in and bring someone like kabayel over to defend the euro. That would be interesting

good description of Gorman's approach in the fight. Agree re the tactic, also ironic as he's the least bullying-type outside the ring.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑20 Oct 2023, 15:17 Fat Gorman had fast hands and caught Wardley too easily with uppers. Kabayel would be a good fight for whoever wins. If in UK Kabayel will have support as there are a lot of Kurds in UK who tend to support their boys.

Great fight, we've got British and Commonwealth titles, unbeaten records, KO artists, needle, the lot, Wardley has shown vulnerabilities but he deals with the guys Adeleye's toiled against with ease,.think Wardley runs though him

I’ve got a feeling Adeleye might just clip him with something big early. Really looking forward to this fight.
Re: Fabio Wardley vs. David Adeleye | TNT PPV - 28 October 2023
Unfortunately this feels a very low rent British title fight and I just can't get excited about it.
Their prattish behaviour before the fight was pretty pathetic...I mean, this is hardly Kaylor v Christie
And Kaylor v Christie was an eliminator for the British title
Wardley has at least boxed & convincingly beaten some barely halfway decent names.
I'm not sure what Adeleye has achieved to be where he is
Maybe the iffy points win over Sokolowski can be forgiven as it turns out Kamil might have been pumped to the gills on PEDs ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

This isn't the golden era but at least it's a good matchup between to rising heavies.
I was impressed that they got Dubois v Joyce on early in their careers. This has a similar feel. Much rather the domestic fighters fight each other rather than tomato cans every 6 months. Winner gets Clarke or Fisher etc
