It’s no laughing matter. Takes ages.
Re: Tory fvcking scumbags
Nope. I have voted Tory, Labour and Lib Dem is past elections and will always continue to weigh-up my options.I thought you were a Tory, Bodyshot?
I am non-aligned, questioning and happy to remain that way.
In previous times I have felt certain Tory governments have been necessary and had some good ideas but the PM of recent years who impressed the most was Gordon Brown who was whole leagues above Blair or any other No 10 occupant.

I think we can only realistically be saved from without now.
Unless the British public can somehow learn that they don't have to vote for Neo-Liberal sickos.

I tried to defect to communist Cuba when I went there on holiday back in 2018, but when they learned I voted for Corbyn's Labour party they threw me out of the country for being too left wing.Coco wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 17:08Come to Spain!Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 12:33 My wife and I have decided we will leave the country if these pudenda get in again, not sure where we will go as for some reason it isn't that straightforward any more.![]()

If you could earn British money with Spanish prices you would be rich.
I dunno whether your job would allow you to do that
Re: Tory fvcking scumbags
I'd love to move to Spain tomorrow....and as I get older I totally get why so many Brits did the same.
Some of the young, tech trendies at my business do these three and six month "sabbaticals" in Malta. They live in these nice hotel complexes that don't have enough business back post-covid and work by the pool, and let 4G take all the strain.
Malta apparently "up for this" as they go out and spend their wages in the local bars, restaurants and boutiques and there's no need to talk about a tax bill or residency paperwork. You just have to go back to the UK for a spell or two.
All the rage apparently and it is feckin' shame I can't code, think the cloud is the fluffy thing in the sky and still have to attend client meetings in person. I want to be them, paid in pounds with a UK salary and not face a client unless it is Teams.
Some long-ish breaks from the utter bleakness of the UK as a politcal and social entity would be welcome. Anyone got a code or AI masterclass for old farts

Penny Mordaunt could well take first place for most unhinged speech at the Tory conference.
She was up against some stiff competition, but managed to come across as more of a lunatic than the others.

'what am I supposed to be fighting against ffs'

Mental.
When your in government, what do you fight against? (Unless a foreign nation in times of conflict).
You legislate. You're literally the fvcking government.
It's a new Tory tactic. Pretend to be the opposition, as if everything that's the fault of the government is something the government are opposed too.

I know, it's just mad isn't it? And it was like she was on he verge of breaking into tears. But, yes, you're right, it was the unsaid, the sinister undertone that's the bigger problem. Fight against immigrants; trannies; gays; teachers; civil servants; social workers; trade unionists, single parents; students; the unemployed; the 'blob'; basically every fvcker who they don't like or doesn't agree with them.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a full-on lurch to the extreme Right if the Tories get trounced at the next election. Braverman; Badenoch; Truss et al. are real cruel fvckers and borderline fascists anyway and they're totally bereft of any new ideas, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them really go for the gutter as part of a regrouping strategy.
The sad thing is, this shite might just appeal to some people. Far Right politics has never had much traction in the UK, but these bastards might just try and get a bandwaggon rolling. Seriously, I wouldn't put it past them and they've got the perfect cover as so many of this new Nutterati are women and/or 'people of colour'.

they obviously told her that it wouldn't be a bad thing if her emotions just ran over slightly, you know, give a physical demonstration of the true passion behind her speech, the raw emotion of her passionate patriotism. The same SPADs that sent her out to do a speech with no content whatsoeverJaguar wrote: ↑06 Oct 2023, 03:45I know, it's just mad isn't it? And it was like she was on he verge of breaking into tears. reminds me of that republican nutcase Karri Lake when she said of Trump, 'you know, he really cares about this country, more than (and here she has this face of slight torment, of anguished empathy on behalf of Trump, that his passion for 'this country' is so deep and pure that he carries it somewhat like a burden, it's an awesome responsibility but he, Trump, will take it on, for the love of his country is so profound, so pure) anyone I've ever met', and she's there with this quiet, but extremely melodramatic tone of awe, that anyone could love a country so deeply, and suffer for their love, so.
i think it was that they were aiming for

meanwhile Labour win a scottish by-election, which suggests that Scotland may be back in play for Labour, and the electoral arithmetic shifts significantly in their favour, if so.

You are, of course, spot on, Len. A plucky litte Tory government struggling against the odds, fighting the giant of wokery, the blob, the BBC/civil service/immigrant elite; the Lefty big banks; looney judiciary; the woke police, All these powerful Leftist forces assembled against them. But they are game, they are fighters, a government battling against all odds.Lenny Cravats wrote: ↑06 Oct 2023, 03:41Mental.
