two very funny posts in a row, good work you two! :TU: As for Tysons power it was far above average. The speed in his case exemplified his already strong shots.

I doubt whether anyone outside of todays top 30 heavyweights in the world would survive more than a minute of the Tyson of 1988, and some of those wouldnt last that long

i think id go atleast a minute with IRON MIKE :box:
About 9 seconds. :o

I'd do a Bruce Seldon & collapse in a heap from a slight glancing blow, then pretend to bodypop when the ref asks do I want to continue!

Easy way to make a living!!!! :TU:

I'd go the Oscar route and get hit in the body and collapse and flop like a fish for 10 seconds.

once he got you in the body you would immediately be hit with an uppercut. If you can flop like a fish after that you are more of a man than I.

this is a funny ol' thread! I honestly think it isnt beyond the realms of possibility for a poster (in good physical condition) to go 2 or 3 with Mike.

The difference is the guys he fought were fighting to win, with a little bit of practise it actually isnt that hard to JUST evade a fighter and run aaround the ring avoiding them. Assuming we are in their to survive, even a fighter as good as Tyson can be avoided by staying out of range for a while.

rarely was Iron Mike in a ring big enough to avoid him in his early start. He was like an animal leaping at its prey in there.

Mike Tyson's only chance against the ringsider was if he brought Robin Givens along to the fight. I would have been too distracted by her beauty to concentrate on beating Mike to a pulp.. I sat patiently waiting by the phone all through the 80's, waiting for Mike & Co. to call and arrange a fight.....but tsk,tsk.tsk....they had heard of the ringsider's skills and power, and wanted no part of me. Mike was chicken..... :TU: :TU:

If Tyson is left handed did he ever fight southpaw, or did he always fight orthodox? I have never seen him fighting as a southpaw. Being a lefty and fighting southpaw are not necessarily the same. You should know that. :)

If he ever did fight southpaw.....well that is why good fighters have good trainers....they convert them to fighting correctly. That is why he had Cus Damato otherwise he would have just been another Micheal Moorer.

Actually he fought as a southpaw earlier in his career. AS CUS DIED and Mike entered the Don King days etc then he stopped fighting as a southpaw....

Well I don't know about that. I have never seen Mike Tyson fighting as a southpaw. Whether it was an amateur fight or pro. I think you are mistaken......

if i just kept my hands up

even if he knocked me down 3 times... the count is to ten... so thats 30 seconds

plus i think for the first 10 seconds of the fight there arent any punches

so thats up to 40 seconds

and the other 20 seconds i will bravely stand and receive my punishment

and u never know. I JUST MIGHT be able to hit mike with a good left hook or somrthing before i get KTFO.

lol.
