6 rounds for a state title?

Post by Grant »

I know I'm probably a dinosaur but 6 rounds for a state title seems a bit light on to me.
What do others think? I don't think it puts much value on a title fight.

I thought the State titles were all 8-rounders. 4 and 6 round bouts are for the start of the career, I think if someone is ready to contest a title then 8 rounds should be the minimum.

I think previously that made more sense.
But not with all the ABC org titles etc being worth a world ranking it probably is only worth fighting for a state title at the start of your career.
I am not saying I agree with it but to get guys fighting for state titles again, maybe 6 round fights was the way to go.

The Aussie and State titles lost their
Prestige when all the rubbish Titles came in
Promoters paid a dollar to call a fight a
a promotion a fight for some non existing
Title.naturally they had to hand over some cash.We all know when that came in
The boys up to the 80.s did it the hard way now we have fighters winning titles after having 3 fights.
