me too, it didn't help that when I watched him in the 90s he had a full head of hair, watching him with no hair in the noughties made me think he's done! He did well against Canelo too I thought.

For me Douglas over Tyson, was totally unexpected by almost everyone.

Yeah the Douglas fight was totally totally shocking at the time - I remember waking up in the morning, and seeing it on the news and being utterly incredulous.

Enzo Mac v Lee Swaby, Enzo was only 19 but touted as next big thing. Swaby sparked him out on a BBC show. I followed Lee and watched a few of his sohws as a kickboxer and boxer it was such an upset.

That an Haye v Thompson, was shocked when Booth threw the towel in. Again a BBC fight.

What fight shocked you the most, one of them fights that you didn’t remotely think of the loss?

I remember I went round Rhino’s house to watch Lewis v Rahman. I remember a couple of weeks before I was looking after Frank Maloney in London someone stopped Frank and I picked up on the following:

“Lenny is not going out to South Africa until the Monday, it should be a lot sooner than that so he can climitise”

“The training camp has been poor”

I didn’t think to tell Rhino until Lennox was sparked out, I then told Rhino who told me I was a **** for not telling him.

Another fight where I spoke to Clive Bernath, we were discussing klitschko v Sanders. Clive told me not to ignore him and that Corrie Sanders would definitely knock out Wladimir ..,. I told Clive to F off and stop being ridiculous.

I had a sneaky feeling Rhodes would at least make a great fight with Moore, which i why I went that night (bloody glad I did, best fight i ever saw live). He’d made a nice steady ‘comeback’ in his previous 4 fights and I thought he’d do well with his right hook against the southpaw.

Then when I see them in the ring and Moore looked at least a weightclass bigger than Rhodes, I thought Moore early or he’d struggle late from draining because I swear he must have been 175+in the ring he looked fucken massive

Not on the scale of the shockwaves sent around the world when Douglas beat Tyson, but I was still very surprised both Evander & Danny stopped him.

Another one, not so well known, the first Dennis Berry vs Neil Sinclair fight. I'd never heard of Berry and he looked small next to Sinky. I didn't see Sinky coming up short that night, but he did.

Yes, Wright was a lot better than I'd thought going into the Dodson fight. I followed his career with interest post-Dodson.

Dodson's potential was always overrated IMO.

Ronald Wright gave Dodson a hiding, but in fairness, Wright was an exceptional boxer with a dangerous jab.
