Ezzard Charles vs Archie Moore 2 controversy unraveled

After the very controversial bout it was discovered that not only had Archie Moore been taking Performance Enhancing Drugs, but he had even had someone on his team poison the drinking water of the defending Champion Charles.

Charles was quoted during the press conference with saying "My arms felt like lead in there. I had trained hard for this fight, so I know some foul play is the only explanation for why I suddenly felt so ill, and weak. I don't know what happened, but that wasn't me in there, and my next fight will show that this guy isn't in my league"

Archie Moore will be facing heavy fines and penalties, and of course Ezzard Charles is due an immediate rematch.

Well Crease the Grease with the Valise seems to have ruled on the matter. It appears you will get a rematch.....I didn't catch if it was immediate.......though I see no reason why not. However Archie may or may not engage. It would be his choice. As he has to fight overtrained this week. The Rule is solid....all other fighters must endure the overtrained aspect as I understand it. So Archies decision may hinge on whether he wants to vie for it under this strict rules that Crease has established


and furthermore.....If you can't keep your fighter from overtraining, and you can't keep your fighter from drinking poison, I'm thinkin' he should turn to the Goldenbuzz Galaxy of Stars for good and proper management. You've got to step up and get the job done son! . Ya can't go round pointin' fingers and blamin' the four horsemen, and the winds of fate for every little thing in life that stings itches, or annoys!
