Always seem to have British refs working them
It'll be interesting in Benn doesn't get a British licence and the fight happens in Saudi.
As things stand Benn couldn't fight on a Saudi show without a British license.
He said he is hoping to get it back in a few weeks.
Can't see him being cleared, but a backdated ban is more likely.
If the BBBoC doesn't play ball, they can fight with the bill being sanctioned by Luxembourg, Malta or whoever.
The BBBoC would lose sanctioning fees for the bout
If he'd just signed with Fwank, all this would be sorted.

So this is looking likely for May. Not Feb.

thanks Ruthless. Everyone will be rooting for Eubank I think, which is more testament to the unlikeability of Conor than the likeability of Chris.

-IS Benn cleared to fight? UK? Saudi?

-who is the sanctioning body in saudi? i felt like BBBoC was doing some, but are they doing all?

-is this a fight that should happen in saudi, clearly it has 99% of its value in the UK market...

If the Saudis want it they’ll get it. And judging by the WWE style build up allowed on Saturday his hearing later this month is a foregone conclusion.
Benn has fought twice in US in last 12 months so im sure if needs be the Saudis will sort something.

Goes to show the money involved when Everyman, his dog and the neighbours dog always use the term “his excellency”. If the fighters, their teams and promoters are seemingly being looked after that well I’m sure the BBBOC will be too somehow.

And that’s exactly why the Saudis will want it.
They’ve thrown ridiculous money at their football teams but it’s failed in its attempt at drawing the eyes of the west . Boxing on the other hand has been ultra successful in their attempt at showcasing themselves and averting attention from the not so nice aspects of their country.

Says a lot about the money on offer when a gay female boxer fights in Saudi despite their LGBT laws

Speaking on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel, Hearn said he is “very hopeful” about a deal being done.

”I think if everyone’s sensible, proactive, and just park the egos for a moment, then I think we can get that fight made.”

If it happens i ask myself would i pay to watch it ,, answer NO WAY .... will i watch it answer yes i will stream it .
Reasons
Simple i would'nt pay because theres no way on this earth would i pay one red cent towards Conor Benns lifestyle pat , present ,or future .

I would stream it , because i would hope Eubank is not to old to KO him , and would love to see it

Be a big risk for Hearn , but one worth taking , Benn llosses the chris fight is dead , Benn wins which without the eggs is not a sure thing , the Chris fight gets bigger

The build-up might be more eggsciting than the actual fight.

According to Shalom,

Eubank had agreed a 55-45 split with Benn.

See, I don't think. If Benn loses, he has a built in excuse. "I'm a welterweight, he was just too big for me. I'll go back to 147 and destroy everybody."

This is a bit like Khan Vs Brook
I'm over it before they even step in the ring, and neither of these guys even have a 1/4 of the legacy. Plus Eubank has been on the slide for a few years so we aren't going to get a peak performance from him, and Benn has to be rusty as.

“We’ve worked wonders. You ask anyone, they can even see it, this isn’t even close to a 50-50 fight, so the fact he’s managing to compromise on that is hugely generous from him. I’ve done my job, and now it’s time for them to be sensible. The fact they’ve already got us down to that shows how well we’ve done. If the fight doesn’t get made now, then we know what it is.”

‘Greed is what’s stopping the fight’: Chris Eubank Jr says Conor Benn doesn’t deserve 50/50 split

Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are at an impasse as Eubank demands 55/45 split of the money.

Here’s some of what Eubank had to say below.

Eubank on a fight against Benn still not having been finalized as Matchroom demand a 50/50 split when he’s offering 55/45
“Of course they don’t want to budge. These guys, their greed is what’s stopping the fight from happening. The bottom line is the A-side doesn’t split 50/50 with the B-side and I am the A-side. Once they comes to terms with that then the fight will be made.”

On his pursuit of a fight with Erislandy Lara if a Benn fight can’t be agreed to
“Absolutely. We want those belts and Lara, he has the belt.”

On what happened with he negotiations for a fight with Canelo that hasn’t come to fruition
“We were in deep negotiations but it came down to timing and it came down to money, both of which we were not happy with. So we decided to put a pin in it, knock off a couple of these big fights, and then when we come back to Canelo next year there will be no denying what we want, what we feel is fair...we were being downplayed in the negotiations last year.”

On this thoughts on a Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford fight
“I think Canelo is too big. It doesn’t make sense. I’ve said before I’d love to fight Terence. I think that if he was ever going to be able to get into the ring with Canelo, he’d need to step up and fight me first. If he was able to get through me then he can go for Canelo but they wouldn’t do that because they know what would happen.”

These two bitches are now quarrelling about purse splits? :oo :brick:

What was the purse split when the bout was originally scheduled?

Eubank seemed quite willing to do anything back then, from boiling himself down to pre skeletal levels, to insisting the fight still went ahead, despite the revelation of Benn potentially necking his wife's fertility pills, now he must get the lion's share because he's the A side, or no fight?

Seriously?

Does this guy think he's Sugar Ray Leonard?

Eubank is no A side; neither of them are.

This whole saga is tedious and Eubank is just mugging himself off.

He's nearly 36 and still hasn't fought a major player in his division, yet now procrastinating about fighting a welterweight with a weak resume that sprinkles fertility pills on his Weetabix in the morning.

I'm done with this Benn/Eubank saga and if Eubank doesn't fight someone decent soon, I'll be done with him too.

Eubank is correct to demand the much bigger split.

Benn is only known for failing a drug test & having his name associated with Eubank.

He’s only ever ‘headlined’ one arena show in this country in Liverpool & Katie Taylor was the chief support who sold the majority of the tickets.

He’s not even proven he’s British level. Let’s be honest about it, until he got on the drugs he looked worse than Campbell Hatton does now.

Eubank is a big name. He has headlined PPV’s against Liam Smith twice, DeGale & Groves. He’s been chief support to Joshua on several occasions & his fights have sold lots of tickets.

I understand the game & Hearn’s team will argue this is his biggest fight but it’s also Benn’s biggest fight by a mile. If they put Benn in with Barrios they would lose a fortune in a fight he’s an underdog in. Benn needs Eubank far more than Eubank needs Benn.

If Benn gets 35% he’s done well.
