t’s a strange sport we follow.

Take CBS, opening the bill tomorrow night. Never gives anything but his all, hugely entertaining, former genuine “world title” holder, and his very last contest was a unification fight.

He’s first on the bill where the main event features a welterweight who’s best wins are KOs of past their best fighters with a massive PEDS asterisk attached. Never fought for even the British title. Since his drugs whoopsie he’s shown all the one-shot power of Ian Napa, with none of the skill. Against him is a guys who’s bounced between Middle and Super Middle for years, who’s never won a “proper” (two weight IBO champ though - and just look who he beat for those belts) and whose career best win is over the badly depleted remains of James DeGale.

They are getting millions, based on their famous names and some handbags/“RAW BEEF”.

There really is no justice in this game. That said, would I have made this fight in Hearn or Shalom’s shoes - abso-fornicating-lutely. Sadly, it was always going to be a money spinner.

I’m not buying in, off out so might catch it in a pub.

Going for a bizarrely specific prediction. Benn comes out like a maniac for two rounds, Eubank weathers the storm and starts to box his ears off. Benn is told to go to the body (obviously) but can’t stop nut shotting Junior. Benn chucked out Golota style. Same again in September lads?

Video of Conor Benn laughing at Eubank failing weight and shouting “Show me the money”. Such a deeply unlikeable individual…

Footage of Jr trying to make weight. What are your thoughts on this.

Sorry it's a Facebook link

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EJ1MxyPUM/

I don't know if this is all mind games and Jr maybe playing a game here pretending the weight has been hard to lose. But if not I'm getting a little concerned about his condition when the bell goes.

I've never understood why Eubank agreed to drop to 160 for this fight. If he could make 160 why has he been boxing at super-middle all these years? If he could have made middle all along then he would have fought at middle wouldn't he?

Re gloves: if it's in the contract that horsehair can't be in the gloves there will be a Khan v Brook stand-off at some point, guaranteed. If there isn't, well, simply Chris' lawyer has either dropped a bollock or wasn't instructed to put that clause in, I suppose.

Tony Sims with the old ice man stare in that video. Bet he thinks most of these promoters and advisers are proper whoppers when giving it the big un.

I don’t like him any more than you do but at this stage of proceedings I think it’s a justifiable attempt to rile Jr

he mostly has been fighting at middle

since he fought degale in 2019, he's had 1 fight at 164 pounds, 1 fight at 161 pounds, and 5 at 160 or 159

Team Eubank seem rattled. Turning up late for the weigh in, missing weight and not having anyone present when Benn chose his gloves.
I'm not surprised he's rattled. Benn chose these gloves.....

It's for the straight ladies and gay men who might be encouraged to buy the PPV after seeing the fighters in their undies. Simple as that.

I'll be honest, if I was a gay bloke I can think of better things to spend my money on for sexual kicks than tuning into this.

Ditto women.

I'm guessing you don't work in marketing Jimmy :D

P.s, the people organising the official weigh in earlier today would do well to look at how the UFC run these things. Today's effort with the random uncalibrated kettlebell being used to check the scales and half of Essex spouting off looked pathetic.

Why the Saudis have brought the BBBOFC into the fold is remarkable to me.

No it's what I said. The weigh in was earlier. When they stand on the scales at this ceremonial event, the announcer will simply read the weights off from earlier whilst we look at the hot bodies.

Official was 6 hours ago.

This is just for media and cameras and show off.

They will just flex for the cameras. And have face off

He hasn’t dropped to 160. He’s fought at 160 for most of his career, including all of his fights in the last 3 1/2 years. He had a spell at 168 but dropped back down to 160 saying he was too small for super middle.

I’d be amazed if Matchroom weren’t all over the contractual stuff so I’d be surprised if there’s any mention of horsehair in their deal with The Ring.
