Re: Do any filmed boxing events exist of Maxie Rosenbloom?
here is a brief clip from the 1951 movie
SKIPALONG ROSENBLOOM.
Max Baer also stars in it as the villain this time, "Butcher Baer" the leader of an outlaw gang.
Looks like it may have been the first time Rosenbloom was ever on a horse.
(Max Baer grew up on a ranches in Colorado and Livermore California,so he still had a bit of the Olde West in him)

The full movie(71 minutes) is available on DVD ,but not a great print though and is only about 7 dollars.

Regarding Maxie Rosenbloom Fights on film, I was told that back in the 1960's one or perhaps 2 films of his fights were lost in a fire at Big Fights Incorporated lost along with the Rosenbloom fights were some early Tony Canzonieri fight films . Mikey Capp

I was watching a dvd of the old MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E series from the 1960's a few months ago.
In one episode (The Concrete Overcoat Affair Part II )you can see Maxie Rosenbloom(as Crunch Battaglia) actually throw a punch
(that was cheorographed of course) on the docks
at Ilya Kiryakin. The punch misses and crashed into a big empty crate and splinters it some.
The punch as I recall was a short tight right cross.

Re: Do any filmed boxing events exist of Maxie Rosenbloom?
I just saw the classic 1939 film
EACH DAWN I DIE
(starring James Cagney and George Raft )
You should check this out, because Max Rosenbloom is fifth billed as "Fargo Red" in it
and has plenty of screen time.
He had just retired from boxing earlier that year (after 274 bouts !).
So you can see him when he was still young and looked in fighting shape
(maybe a few pounds over)
Noticable was his left cauliflower ear.
The dvd I saw had a really good print.
check it out.

The interesting thing about this movie was it had originally intended to have been
a Charlie Chan film, CHARLIE CHAN AT THE FIGHTS,but the actor who played him Warner Oland died,so they re-wrote it and made it a Mr. Moto film.

Apparently Cus D’Amato was so impressed with Rosenbloom that he patterned the “peek a boo” defense after him, while adding the crowd pleasing offence.

How about any "Ring Action" photographs ?
anyone here seen any of those ?
( perhaps one can get a better sense as to how he fought, stance etc etc etc)
similar to how they try and reconstruct some of those "lost films" such as LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT.

I was told back in the early 1990's by the late fight film collector Sal Rappa that there were fight films of Maxie Rosenbloom that Big Fights Inc had acquired however they were lost along with other rare fights in a warehouse fire. Mikey Capp

Where was the warehouse ?
Had the films/video's been transported to there after Jim Jacobs had died ?
( Jim Jacobs (1930-1988) was an avid comic collector and was said to have had in Los Angeles,
two warehouses full with at least one copy of every known comic book ever published)

I am not sure of the location of the warehouse but apparently there were also many 3/4 inch masters from Madison Square Garden Network that were part of the films lost in that fire one of which was Buster Mathis Sr vs Jerry Quarry.
