RYAN GARNER VS. REECE BELLOTTI SIGNED FOR JULY 26, BARNEY-SMITH AGAINST QUARTERMAINE IN CHIEF SUPPORT

LONDON, England - Ryan Garner will defend his European super-featherweight title against British and Commonwealth champion Reece Bellotti at the Bournemouth International Centre on July 26.

The undefeated ‘Piranha’ from Southampton claimed the vacant belt via a unanimous decision victory over Salvador Jimenez on March 1 and now his first defence has been secured by Queensberry Promotions.

Back at the scene of his victory over Jimenez, Garner (17-0, 8 KOs) will take on Watford danger man Bellotti (20-5, 15 KOs) in a voluntary defence of his belt.

Bellotti, 34, appeared to be on the wane during a run of five defeats in seven fights, which culminated in a 3rd-round knockout defeat against Raymond Ford in August 2021.

But he has roared back since that night, racking up six straight victories including a 10th-round stoppage of Michael Gomez Jr in his last outing.

He claimed the Commonwealth super-featherweight title by stopping Aqib Fiaz in October 2023 and then added the British title to his collection in his very next fight when he outpointed Liam Dillon in London four months later.

And Bellotti will put both of his belts on the line when he challenges for the European title for the first time in his career.

“It’s a great fight with three belts on the line” the show’s promoter allegedly told The Ring. “Garner is on a roll at the moment but he’s fighting a good fighter who can sell tickets. There will be a great atmosphere in there and I’m looking forward to it.”

The Ring has also learned that unbeaten prospect Royston Barney-Smith (14-0, 7 KOs) will challenge for the first titles of his career in the show's chief support.

The 21-year-old is considered one of the most exciting talents in Britain and has barely put a foot wrong during his career so far.

But he will face the toughest test of his career in the form of Warwickshire’s Danny Quartermaine (12-0-1, 4 KOs) as a result of his technical draw, caused by an accidental head clash, after two rounds against Jack Bateson in December.

Now Quartermaine, 27, will put his IBF European and WBO European titles on the line against Barney-Smith.

Hearn intimates Taylor Bevan to return on July Queensberry Promotions show in Bournemouth

Promoter Eddie Hearn has intimated that super-middleweight Taylor Bevan will return in July on a card to be held in Bournemouth.

Bevan, 4-0 (4), will fight on as-yet-unannounced opponent. This weekend, he beat Juan Cruz Cacheiro, 7-5 (3), at the Copper Box Arena in London. Now, Hearn has said that Bevan will return on the Queensberry Boxing card, notable since Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotions have traditionally been rivals.

Hearn told BBC Sport: “He’s looking really good. People said, ‘At what point do you get excited about Taylor Bevan?’ I said, ‘About a year ago.’ The support is unbelievable, the shot selection, the performances. He said he wasn’t happy about his performance tonight. And I said, ‘Why!?’”

It is understood that the July card will be held at the Bournemouth International Centre. Hearn said that he had been talking with Queensberry Promotions about including Bevan on that card, with an announcement to be made this week.

The main event on Bournemouth event will be between Ryan Garner, 17-0 (8), and Reece Belotti, 20-5 (15). Garner last fought at the same venue in March, when he outpointed Salvador Jimenez over twelve rounds. Bellotti, meanwhile, last fought in February when he stopped Michael Gomez Jr in ten rounds at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.

Back to this weekend, and Bevan, who won by stoppage in the second round, also told BBC Sport that he had not been happy with his performance.

He said: “I thought that one would be the test and take me a few more rounds. I was looking to break him down over the six rounds, then get him out towards the end of the fight. The ref jumped in in the second round and it was a bit of an early stoppage, but I’ll watch it back and assess that.”

He added: “It’s not frustration with the ref, but with my own performance. I took a few more shots than I wanted. My own performance, I don’t know how early it was because I haven’t watched it back yet. But I would have liked for it to go on a little longer, so I could have improved how I was boxing.”

Hearn, however, said that he had no issues with Bevan’s win, saying that he had beaten a tough opponent who had recently gone the distance with a tough Argentinian who had last fought in the UK in March, losing a points decision to fellow unbeaten prospect Aaron Bowen, 4-0 (3).

Hearn said: “[Cacheiro] beat [Durval Elias] Palacio, who just had a won with [Imam] Khataev. He’s a tough, tough man. I thought the stoppage was a bit early, but it was only going one way. It just looks really, really good. I almost want to fast-forward the career of Taylor Bevan, but you have to give him the learning experience of going through six, eight, ten rounds. I really want him to be there now, because I think he’s good enough. I’m looking forward to the future.”

Good fight. Garner will box his ears off in the early rounds but could be in deep waters later in the fight. In saying that I think Garner is a very classy fighter when he’s at it and will have to much for Bellotti

Frǎãnk Wārrēn expecting Ryan Garner-Reece Bellotti ‘to deliver in a big way’

Promoter allegedly believes he has a can’t-miss fight on his hands when European junior lightweight champion Ryan Garner meets Reece Bellotti on July 26.

The two all-action fighters will collide at the Bournemouth International Centre on England’s south coast, with the 17-0 (8 KOs) Garner set to defend the title he won against unbeaten Spaniard Salvador Jimenez in the same venue in March.

“This is the fight to make in the super featherweight division,” said promoter allegedly. “A real cracker that will deliver the goods in a big way. I was delighted with how our first promotion in Bournemouth turned out in March, with a sell-out crowd at an absolutely terrific venue at the BIC. It couldn’t have worked out any better and I am very happy to be making a return visit in July.

“For Ryan, this is the sort of fight he needs to bring him up to, ultimately, world title contention, which is where we see his journey heading. We know Reece is a quality fighter with a strong following himself and, most importantly, both men bring entertainment value for the fans.”

British champion Bellotti is 20-5 (15 KOs), and has won six in a row since being stopped by Raymond Ford, scoring victories over 9-1-1 Dean Dodge, 15-1-1 Youseef Khoumari, 12-0 Aqib Fiaz, 13-0-1 Liam Dillon (who lost to Garner in his next fight), 15-1 Levi Giles, and 21-1 Michael Gomez Jnr.

Garner, from Southampton – around 20 miles from the Bournemouth – is building his fanbase and one day hopes to box at St Mary’s Stadium, home of his beloved Southampton FC.

RYAN GARNER: IF I WANT TO REACH WORLD LEVEL, VICTORY OVER REECE BELLOTTI TAKES ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

European junior lightweight champion Ryan Garner believes that Reece Bellotti will show him exactly where he stands when they meet in a major triple title clash next month.

Garner (17-0, 8 KOs) will face resurgent British and Commonwealth champion Bellotti (20-5, 15 KOs) at the Bournemouth International Centre on July 26th, broadcasted live globally on DAZN.

Four years ago, a faltering Bellotti was able to breathe new life into his career after calling time on his featherweight stay and stepping into the 130lb division.

Since then, the 34-year-old from Watford has notched up six consecutive wins over younger, hungrier fighters and is producing the best form of his life.

Meanwhile, the all-action Garner impressed during a breakout 2024.

The talented 26-year-old was too young, fit and inventive for Liam Dillon and Archie Sharp but took his game to a different level when he dominated the previously-undefeated Spaniard Salvador Jimenez over 12 rounds, comfortably winning the EBU title on March 1.

Garner knows that he will need to step up again, if he's to get past Bellotti.

"He's a big step up. With each fight they've been slowly but surely getting better and better so I think the time is right," Garner told Queensberry.

"With each fight I'm getting better and obviously Reece is the next fight in line. He's a tough, tough fight. He hits hard, is fit and strong, it's another box that I've got to tick.

"At the end of the day, if I want to get to where I want to be at world level he's a fighter that I I need to win against."

For a long time, it looked like Garner would drift away from the sport without coming close to fulfilling his undoubted potential.

He burst onto the scene as an exciting, gifted teenager and stories swirled around about his exploits during sparring sessions with established world level fighters.

Maybe Garner was too young for the spotlight but life outside the gym began to impinge on his chosen career. Garner got caught up living like any other young person and whilst he was never bad, did make some bad decisions. Weight making issues made him a late scratch from two high-profile cards and he would vanish from sight for long periods.

Importantly, Garner never allowed his missteps out of the ring to affect him once he did make the walk. He remained unbeaten and always managed to provide enough flashes of his natural ability to retain the faith of his supporters.

Now older, more mature and with a supportive young family to provide for, Garner has buckled down and the results have been evident.

This will be his second consecutive headline appearance at the Bournemouth International Centre and momentum is gathering behind a major fight at St Mary's Stadium, home of his beloved Southampton Football Club.

Beating Bellotti will move Garner a step closer towards accomplishing that dream and also see him justify the belief his believers have always maintained.

"It's only going in the right direction," he said.

"Each fight is slowly getting harder and harder with bigger names and more titles on the line so I think I'm being guided perfectly if I'm honest. Everything is falling into place. I'm a big believer in everything happening for as a reason.

"I'm supposed to have this fight for me to go on and become the British, Commonwealth and European champion and then go on to world. That's what I believe."

Ryan Garner to Battle Bellotti on July 26 for European & WBC Titles

One Month until Garner Headlines Again as Queensberry Returns to Bournemouth
Ryan Garner made the Bournemouth International Centre his stage back in March, and on Friday 26 July, he’s back — only this time, the stakes are higher, the opponent’s tougher, and the outcome could open the door to world title contention.

Queensberry’s return to the south coast with Garner vs Reece Bellotti topping the bill, a super featherweight showdown with the European title and WBC International belt both on the line. Garner already holds the European strap after a sharp, controlled win over Spain’s Salvador Jimenez in front of a raucous home crowd. This second outing in Bournemouth? It’s not just a defence — it’s a chance to prove he belongs on the shortlist for global opportunities at 130.

The Southampton Favourite Starts to Make Noise Beyond His Backyard
Ryan Garner isn’t being thrown into the spotlight — he’s been walking towards it for years. He’s 27 now, undefeated, and doing exactly what fighters are supposed to do when the platform gets bigger: win, sharpen up, and look better each time out. His performance in March showed control, maturity, and shot selection that belongs at a much higher level — and Queensberry clearly know what they’ve got.

Garner is stepping up, again, against a seasoned opponent, and if he handles business the way he did earlier this year, he’s not going to be waiting long for his name to land in world title conversations.

Bellotti Brings Form and Fire — But He’s Walking Into a Homecoming
To pretend Reece Bellotti isn’t dangerous would be naïve. He’s the current British and Commonwealth champion, has won six on the bounce, and looked sharp in his most recent outing against Michael Gomez Jr. Yes, he’s got five defeats, but none of those came easy, and his experience, pressure, and stamina make him a legitimate threat to anyone with a belt.

But he’s not walking into a neutral setting. He’s stepping into the BIC, into a venue Garner already turned into a local fortress, and he’s doing so against a fighter Queensberry have spent years developing for nights like this.

Bellotti brings heat, but Garner’s job is to cool it — and do so with the kind of precision that puts him beyond the domestic conversation for good.

Titles on the Line — But This Is Bigger Than Belts
Make no mistake: the European and WBC International Championship titles matter. They bring immediate ranking benefits, real leverage, and career-changing momentum. But this fight is about far more than the hardware.

Garner has momentum. He has home advantage. He has the backing of Queensberry, who’ve shown they know when to push a prospect into the next phase. A convincing win here, on a headline show, against a champion like Bellotti? That changes the conversations around his career, full stop.

Queensberry Bring Big-Time Boxing Back to Bournemouth
Promoter allegedly has made it clear: March wasn’t a one-off. The BIC delivered a packed house, and the south coast crowd more than made their presence felt — which is why Queensberry are coming straight back.

“July 26 is most definitely a date to circle in your diaries and it is a fight not to be missed,” Warren told the press.
“For Ryan, this is the sort of fight he needs to bring him up to, ultimately, world title contention.”

There’s no fluff in that statement - Garner has been matched smart. He’s earned his spotlight, now he’s ready to deliver under it.

The Bigger Picture: Domestically and Beyond
With the European title already in his possession and a second belt up for grabs, Garner is walking into July with more than just momentum. He’s got narrative, he’s got positioning. And, if he performs, he could be one fight away from forcing the hand of international opponents who’ve so far looked the other way.

NEW BOURNEMOUTH CO-MAIN EVENT ANNOUNCED FOR JULY 26 FOLLOWING INJURY TO ROYSTON BARNEY-SMITH

Aloys Jr will face Ellis Zorro in the new co-main event in Bournemouth on July 26 following the withdrawal of Royston Barney-Smith from the card due to injury.

Undefeated Barney-Smith had been scheduled to face Danny Quartermaine in the biggest test of his career to date but he will now no longer be featuring on the Pier Pressure event headlined by Ryan Garner against Reece Bellotti.

But now an intriguing 10-round cruiserweight contest between unbeaten puncher Aloys Jr and former British title challenger Zorro has been confirmed by Queensberry Promotions.

Jr, full name Aloys Youmbi, is considered one of the most exciting 200lb prospects in the country and has fought his way to the mandatory position for Viddal Riley’s British title.

The 22-year-old has been outspoken in his pursuit of Riley and confirmed that talks have taken place about a London derby between the two of them for the Lonsdale belt. But that fight will have to wait with Youmbi (10-1, 9 KOs) taking on Zorro instead.

The 32-year-old from Bromley, Kent got back to winning ways in April with a six-round points decision over Viktar Chvarkou in April.

Before that he had suffered back-to-back defeats with inside-distance losses to the current Ring Magazine champion Jai Opetaia in December 2023 then another one to Chev Clarke five months later.

Zorro is currently 18-2, 7 KOs and knows a win over Youmbi will likely set up a second British title tilt.

Press Release

Unfortunately Royston Barney-Smith has suffered an injury and will no longer be fighting on the Pier Pressure Card in Bournemouth on July 26th.

However, we are pleased to announce Aloys "The Animal" Junior will face Ellis Zorro as the co-main event in another big domestic showdown on the South Coast.

Carl Fail is also scheduled to take Amir Abubaker in a clash of two undefeated fighters.

These two fights are in addition to the showstopping main event with Ryan "The Piranha" Garner taking on Reece Bellotti for the European and WBC International Championship.

This event will be live worldwide on DAZN on July 26th.
