Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Suppose because of his age , and what he's been doing you would have to go Moses , has the most promising , But i personaly am always watching the British heavyweights or rather any boxer who's promoted by Warren , with a little bit of sceptism , he does have a tendency to handpick fights ,
Use his considerable influence to get rankings , and then go for the easiest titles when available , so i don't think dispite the talk of how good he is , how they cannot find opponents , how they will take everyone , I don't think we will see Moses stepping up for a while yet .
Only last week there was talk of Bakole , in one interview Frank said , who's Bakole , whats he done , he's come into his last two fights and been terrible .
Same week in an interview he states Moses does'nt need that step up just yet ,

I'm glad to hear that.
I had a worry that Moses Itauma's biggest problem might be his promoter.
FW used to have a tendency to drop his fighters in above their heads a little too early at times. I suppose when someone is waving a huge wad of quick money in front of you...resistance can prove difficult.
DDD himself needed a small miracle against Anthony Joshua to get his career back on track after almost being brutally derailed by Joyce and Lerena.
Losing to Usyk will be no worse than a difficult sparring session for him.
In fact, Daniel will get a boxing lesson thrown in for free whilst once again pushing the rules of boxing beyond their limits.

Personally I think Franks always been an expert at matchmaking guys into world title shots quite often to get beat and bust the myth Frank created he..s also an expert at getting them low level titles . Got to admit he.s great at his job . But that's why he.s so rich and powerful in the sport
Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Not sure if i am convinced about the hype about Itauma, needs to fight guys such as WALLIN, JERMAINE FRANKLIN, CHARLES MARTIN, STEPHAN SHAW, HEMI AHIO, VLAD SIRENKO,,CASSIUS CHANEY, GEORGE ARIAS, JERRY FORREST, JONATHON RICE , If he can beat 2 or 3 of those guys next step would be guys like WHYTE, CHISORA, HUNTER, RUIZ, JENNINGS, HRGOVIC, ORTIZ, SANCHEZ, AJAGBA, MAKHMUDOV or fellow prospects JARRED ANDERSON RIHARD TORREZ, JOSE LARDUET, LENIER PERO.

Ok slightly main topic adjacent but what are some of the best opponents for prospects (all different levels as long as they are a good opponent option). I’ll start the list with a few… but what are some others?
-Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko the gold standard in tough but not too dangerouse. 10/10 guy to put your prospect that’s never been rounds in with over 6 or 8 rounds. Added bragging rights on the line for first to stop him…
-Kiki Toa Leutele: gave huni a great fight, very tough, fights back, just at a levle that a good prospect should be ok with.
Dave Allen: tough, can fight a bit, and a name… problem is can be a bit inconsistent or knock you out (soz fisher).
Franklin: tough as, massive bragging rights for stopping a guy that took Whyte and AJ 12, dosent feel particularly dangerouse.

Joyce: A guy that's always guaranteed to be a tough out. Win or lose, but he's on a losing streak.gregregegg wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 21:25 Ok slightly main topic adjacent but what are some of the best opponents for prospects (all different levels as long as they are a good opponent option). Bakole: Ditto with Joyce except for he's even more dangerous at the moment.
Jared Anderson: A particularly live stepping stone as he only has 1 loss, but it's to Bakole.
Otto Wallin: Has been with the best. Never beaten them.
Guido Vianello: Has fought some tough opponents. Usually doesn't win

Interesting perspectives. It looks like you believe these guys are more cooked than I do… Those first 3 seem very scary for me…gilgamesh wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 23:25Joyce: A guy that's always guaranteed to be a tough out. Joyce is a horrible way to find out you don’t have cardio…. But I guess he is done enough.
Bakole is just too good for my mind, I think he is contender levle, imagine you book bakole and at weigh in he is 275lb… RIP. Honestly there isn’t a heavyweight prospect in the world I would put in with him including Moses. (I’d have Moses favorite but a coin toss if bakole is fit).
Jah Anderson was the number 1 prospect in the heavyweight division till he got tagged. Like bakole I would be way too scared that a fit motivated Anderson turned up…
Otto is a good one but, I don’t rate him and he has a good names.
I hope they get jah flying again. A jah vs Moses rivalry would be cool.
Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Some of those guys are definitely dangerous. I guess it depends on how good you think your Prospect is
A guy like Moses Itauma I'd take to beat those guys. Well...right now I would. Still under the assumption that he's gonna be able to beat Dillian Whyte. If he fails there, maybe he doesn't beat those guys

Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Hell if you scan the Top 100 almost 80 of those guys could be considered "Prospects" but obviously there's only a handful of 'em we'll still be talking about in 3 or 4 years time.

Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Just seen Jalov has booked another shit fight.
6’7 southpaw double Olympic champ double world champ 150 amature fights…. ko power in amature gloves….
Litraly the perfect prospect.. except 30 years old and just treading water. I was hoping turki would decide he likes him.

The fights they pick are quite telling.
I'd never rated hrgovic hugely but when they matched him with the ridiculous mark di mori on such a huge saudi bill that told you everything you needed to know
I'm getting the same vibes with jallolov....

Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
Jalo does what is asked of him.
Costs a lot to get the higher level opponents and he isn't backed by either of the big two heavyweight promotors.
He also has zero following in the scheme of things and no one wants to call him out.

Re: Most promising heavyweight prospects?
if i were a promoter, i woulda been hesitant to sign him given his boner for amateur boxing
surely 2 golds is enough though?
