In his prime he was pretty good - albeit clearly on weight bully diuretics or whatever, but he crushed Andy Lee.
That was his peak, Shirley ? :maybe:

TEVIN FARMER SOUNDS CERTAIN ABOUT HOW HE'LL FARE VS. FLOYD SCHOFIELD: ‘I’M KNOCKING HIM OUT’

In three consecutive fights, Tevin Farmer believes he was given the short end of the stick. However, he promises that it won’t happen a fourth time.

On June 28 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Farmer will take a stroll to the ring where Floyd Schofield Jr. will be waiting for him.

Schofield and his loquacious father have told the boxing world that they’re ready to face the biggest and best names available at 135 pounds. Farmer undoubtedly respects Schofield’s willingness to mix it up with the division’s top dogs. But for now, the experience he has isn’t his strong suit.

As Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) takes a long look through his resume, he can’t help but smile. Although his 22-year-old foe believes he’s seen it all, Farmer is overwhelmingly confident that he actually hasn’t seen anything yet.

“Kid Austin's [Schofield] about to learn my skills are different than anything he's ever seen," said Farmer in a recent press release.

Schofield’s experience wouldn’t be viewed as a weakness if his matchup with Shakur Stevenson had followed through.

A few short months ago, Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) was incredibly happy when it was announced that he would be given a shot at Stevenson’s WBC title. But, thanks to an illness and subsequent trip to the hospital, he pulled out.

Since then, Schofield has defended himself from an avalanche of criticism. A win over a former champion such as Farmer would go a long way towards that.

A three-fight losing streak is never a good thing. But controversy was attached to Farmer’s losses to Raymond Muratalla and William Zepeda. He left those decisions in the hands of the judges. He believes he was let down.

Against Schofield, there’s a chance they could straddle another L to his resume. To avoid that, he’ll make sure he gives them the night off.

“I'm knocking him out to teach him a lesson."

The Jake Paul vs. Chavez Jr. PPV will set purchasers back a cool $60 ahead of the DAZN-streamed fight on June 28.

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and DAZN revealed he price point this week as the event is now available for pre-order one month early.

YouTuber Paul steps up in class from his last outing against 58-year-old Mike Tyson by facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the legend of the same name.

Jake Paul vs Chavez Jr PPV Price
Chavez, who hasn’t held a world title for 13 years, allows Paul to defeat his first active world champion. To witness his attempts to be an expiration-dated Chavez, the event will cost $59.99 on DAZN Pay-Per-View.

DAZN Head of Marketing, Alife Sharman, attempted to justify the cost.

“Everybody knows that Jake Paul brings the action everywhere he goes, and only on DAZN will fans all around the world be able to witness an unforgettable evening on June 28,” he said.

“From the main event all the way down the card, there isn’t a dull fight on the docket filled with some of the best talent in the sport.”

To soften the considerable blow a little, Paul and MVP have put together an undercard full of future stars to entice the buyer.

- Tyson was an exhibition like Tyson's Roy fight even as it was a commish approved fight.

Chavez Jr has been in mental meltdown for years now. Even old Tyson would KO him not that I'm saying Jake will do it.

Jake is actually a charitable feller giving female boxers a huge boost and older shot fellers a big boost. It's all fun and games with him as boxing slowly dies on the vine of sports respectability.

Hell, for the $$$ he pays, I'd be willing to glove up myself...only in boxing, folks :TU:

i dont know much about matt vanda, but jake paul is not on the level brian vera was. jake paul is novelty boxer who couldnt even beat tommy fury - another novelty boxer and the only guy paul fought who was a boxer close to his prime people had actually heard of.

brian vera was tough as nails and knocked out andy lee and sergey dziziniruk - two olympians and former/future world champs. also beat sergio mora twice. and this wasnt when they were all horribly shot either.

Press Release

Jake Paul faces another former champion from a bygone era this weekend when he steps into the ring with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. [From 2011 to 2012, Chavez was the WBC middleweight champion. Paul vs. Chavez will be at cruiserweight]. The boasts and promises from ‘The Problem Child’ are consistent as ever heading into battle as he once again vowed to deliver an emphatic victory whoile also maintaining that the day will come when he becomes world champion. For that to happen, this latest path on that quest, must be one that Paul handles impressively, but is he capable of disposing of Chavez Jr in a vicious and simple manner? The answer is simple – he has to if his boxing credentials are ever to be taken seriously.

Paul’s improvements, notable ones that some boxing traditionalists will not admit, have been identified in recent years as his time in the gym under solid tutelage has seen him master some old crafts that have helped in certain situations. At the level he operates at, against fellow novices or boxing neophytes, Paul looks comfortable under pressure, he knows how to smother and spoil, and he is not afraid to let his hands go. That has allowed him to dominate certain fighters, but never enough to make observers fully back him when the going might get tough.

Paul had his backers when he takes on the likes of Mike Tyson, age 58 at the time, and a man who had been inactive for the best part of 20 years. Now with Chavez Jr, a former middleweight ruler now intent on doing as little as possible in the ring, will those supporting his chances of victory at this echelon of the sport consider him a threat against any current ranked contender? Ask plenty in the know and they will tell you that numerous former world champions, inactive for many years, would be too smart and experienced for Paul. Numerous spats with Carl Froch and Tony Bellew have created speculation the retired Brits could one day be opposing Paul in the ring, and there would be many backing the previous world champions.

Take that forward a few spaces and assess the current world champions around the cruiserweight division Paul operates in. Who do you see who Paul could defeat, or even be competitive against?

Jai Opetaia? Zurdo Ramirez? Dmitry Bivol? Artur Beterbiev? A lengthy list of dangerous men sit comfortably in the positions Paul believes he is capable of filling, and they do not appear to be going anywhere just yet. What about the contenders a level below, who are more than capable of getting their hands on a world title anywhere between light-heavyweight and the land of boxing’s giants? Chris Billam-Smith? Anthony Yarde? Viddal Riley? Is this an area where Paul is targeting?

One that could realistically aid his world title hopes, or is his current strategy of targeting marketable greats from yesteryear enough to quench his fighting thirst?

If it is the former, then Paul must start proving that. Tyson, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz have all taken Paul the distance in recent bouts. If the popular Ohioan can end Chavez Jr’s hopes before the final bell, something Canelo Alvarez could not manage, then he will every right to dream bigger.

Paul will always have his doubters in boxing, the toughest of sports, but he also holds the power to convince them his aspirations are genuine and that must start this Saturday night.

Embarrassingly stupid. It’s a failed (in the US) media pudendum asking questions of a pothead retired boxer who was never any good and a YouTube boxing fraud. Sad for the sport.

Jake Paul fights the very weakest (Chavez Jr.) and the oldest (Mike Tyson) opponents he can find, yet is still making enormous amounts of money off their names (in the case of Chavez Jr., the father's name).

At the same time, many talented fighters cannot seem to get into meaningful fights for decent paydays.

There's a decent matchup between two bona-fide top cruiserweight contenders on Sunday's card, but somehow it's taking second place to the sad joke of a "main event".
