I wonder if next time, Eubank Jnr, who has made his money, will just weigh in what he wants at each weigh in and pay the fines. Would be a lot more healthy for him. You couldn't blame him if he did.
Who knows what to believe re Eubank’s purse for the first fight but £5m seems a plausible figure. If that were his purse shouldn’t he have done what you suggest weight wise in that fight ?
He told Diary of a CEO that he negotiated 10 figures. it was rumoured that he was getting around £9m-£10m and that Benn got a few mil less.

They negotiated their own deals with Turki.

CEJ said the first figure he gave Turki, he accepted. then he realised, he should have gone higher first.

He won’t unless it’s forced.

I don’t know the exact details of the contract, but given Eubanks hospitalisation last time it’s feezable that eubank would not be medically cleared for 160 and if so I guess Connor would have to find a compromise or find another fight.

You can put a lot in a contract, but they have limits.
Eubank has said he took more money to agree to the rehydration clause.

Everything can be negotiated but Eubank wasn’t forced to take the conditions and fight.

Chris Eubank Jnr-Conor Benn II to get a new date, says Eddie Hearn

There appears to have been a change to the slated date for the rematch between Chris Eubank Jnr and Conor Benn.

The pair clashed back in April at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in one of the biggest fights on British shores in recent times. They reignited a family rivalry that began with their fathers, Chris Eubank Snr and Nigel Benn, and battled it out in an entertaining contest.

It was seen as a mesmeric occasion, with both fathers present – Eubank Snr somewhat surprisingly – for the clash. Their sons delivered and slugged it out for 12 highly entertaining rounds, with Eubank Jnr made the winner via unanimous decision.

Benn did himself no harm with his performance. After he had mainly competed at welterweight during his career, he impressed everyone with his first showing at 160lbs – so much so that many called for more after the contest and talks of a rematch began.

Both men had signed for a rematch before the first contest; it was just a matter of where and when. September 27 was the rumored date, back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although the recent Premier League fixture list has put an end to that. Spurs are scheduled to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on that date.

Benn’s promoter, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn, was asked what date the contest could now be moved to in light of the Premier League fixture announcement.

“I think 20th of September, October 4 – it's down to [Turki Alalshikh],” Hearn told BS. “So we were talking with [the Saudis] yesterday, and they'll make a decision soon. You know, September 20 is, I think, 10 weeks on Saturday. So it's almost time to return to camp.”

You can easily tell the enthusiasm for this fight is a fraction of the first, just by the depth of the first thread- and this one.
I hope they factor that in with the purses or someone is going to lose money.

The first thread started in 2022 and had all the drug stuff in there too and finally came to an end this year. Nearly 3 years worth of all that build up on there.

Then there was the other Conor Benn threads as well, so some filtered into there.

CHRIS EUBANK JR VS. CONOR BENN II SET FOR SEPT. 20 IN LONDON, SAYS TURKI ALALSHIKH

Chris Eubank Jr's rematch with Conor Benn will take place on Sept. 20 in London, HE Turki Alalshikh has revealed.

The card will be a Riyadh Season event and promoted by Sela, Boxxer and Matchroom.

It was revealed shortly after the pair's first fight on April 26 that plans to stage the rematch at the end of September were already in motion. All that needed to be confirmed were Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League fixtures for the 2025/26 season.

Tottenham are scheduled to play at home on Sept. 27 against Wolves. The week before that on Sept. 20, though, they're away at Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, a venue has yet to be confirmed for Eubank Jr-Benn II. Spurs is the likely frontrunner but it could also take place at Wembley Stadium, which holds a capacity of over 90,000, a third more than Spurs' allocation.

Conor Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn told The Ring: "Spurs is contracted — it's a fantastic stadium and it worked extremely well the first time. Obviously, it was sold out and this fight's even bigger, so you could possibly look at Wembley to increase the capacity, but that will be a decision for His Excellency and Ring Magazine to make the final call."

Eubank Jr, who spent two nights in hospital following the bruising contest with Benn, won by unanimous decision in a Fight of the Year contender on April 26 atop The Ring's first ever boxing card. The fight was a huge success, selling over 60,000 tickets and attracting 620,000 pay-per-view buys worldwide.

The three year build-up to the bout, which included failed drug tests, an egg-slap and the shock arrival of Chris Eubank Sr on fight night only served to increase the event's enormity.

Whether a rematch lives up to the billing remains to be seen, but Hearn is sure the pair, who slugged it out for 12 brutal rounds, will pick up where they left off for the 13th.

"I just think the second fight will be even better," the Matchroom chief said. "They're not going to change. They're going to come out from the first bell and just carry on like the 13th round. And when you see a fight like that, for me, the automatic thing to do is to do the rematch. The fight was always going to be two fights, but sometimes a fight's one-sided or it ends early and there isn't really the appetite for the rematch.

"I think here, now with Conor having that activity, which is something that was lacking from the first fight as well, we really fancy our chances. We know the weight's a disadvantage and that showed a little bit in the first fight, but fans can just expect a continuation of the 12th round and it'll be another toe-to-toe war."

Chris Eubank Jnr-Conor Benn II set for September 20

The rematch between Chris Eubank Jnr and Conor Benn will take place on September 20 in London, England, according to the Ring Magazine.

The Ring, in its modern guise, oversaw the controversial first contest between them in April, when Eubank Jnr, 35, was awarded a unanimous decision at the conclusion of 12 entertaining rounds.

It was little secret that both fighters – the sons of their celebrated fathers Chris Snr and Nigel, who had so memorable a rivalry in the 1990s – had already agreed to have a rematch later in 2025, and after attracting a crowd in the region of 65,000 to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they will, perhaps inevitably, fight again.

Eubank Jnr’s struggles to make the 160lbs limit for that evening meant that their rematch was expected to take place above middleweight, regardless of Benn, 28, being a career welterweight. What the weight will be, however, remains – like the fight venue – unclear.

“Breaking!” the Ring posted on social media. “Chris Eubank Jnr versus Conor Benn II will take place on September 20th in London. The Riyadh Season card will be promoted by Sela, Matchroom and Boxxer.”

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the home of the Premier League soccer team Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs have a home fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 27, but on September 20 visit Brighton & Hove Albion. The Ring has also reported Wembley Stadium as a potential alternative.

"Experience gained, lessons learned, let's fornicating have it," Benn posted, also on social media.

It was only vaguely close because Eubank was very badly weight drained. Hope he fights at super middle and blasts the cheat out.

Benn scrapes a controversial win in a dodgy decision so they can milk money from a rematch. Boxing is faker than the WWE nowadays.

I reckon Eubank will win again, he will get his weight better this time around, in his own words wasn’t expecting that hard a fight the first time so now he knows what to expect and will prepare better.

No weight change for Eubank-Benn rematch - Hearn

Eddie Hearn says he has received no request from Chris Eubank Jr's team to renegotiate the weight terms for September's rematch with Conor Benn, adding he would be reluctant to entertain one if it came.

The Matchroom promoter confirmed the rematch will be fought under the exact same conditions as their April bout - at the middleweight limit of 160lb with a rehydration clause - as stipulated in a two-fight contract agreed beforehand.

Eubank outpointed Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their much-hyped grudge match, the latest chapter in a rivalry dating back to when their legendary fathers first fought.

The rematch is set for 20 September in London, with the venue still to be confirmed.

"Firstly, [Team Eubank] wouldn't approach me because the contract is with Saudi Arabia but the issue they have is we have a contract that stipulates the terms are identical to the first fight," Hearn told BBC Sport.

"That's what we've signed and that's what we've agreed to."

Asked if different terms would be considered, Hearn said Benn would not want to go above the 160lb middleweight limit.

Eubank's weight was a contentious issue in the build-up to their first fight. He missed weight during fight week and was fined £375,000 but was within the 10lb rehydration limit on fight morning.

The British Boxing Board of Control will hold a hearing this month over reports Eubank used a sauna to cut weight - against its rules - but Hearn believes the debate has been overstated.

"People don't realise for the rehydration Chris Eubank weighed in in all his clothes and a big jacket. And he was half a pound under, he was probably three pounds under. It wasn't a problem at all," Hearn added.

"At 160lb he was tight and you could tell it was hard work. But it's hard work for 99% of fighters making weight. I don't think the hydration is the issue, it's how long he's going to make 160lb limit for."

------
Why is Eubank-Benn rematch happening?

Despite losing by unanimous decision in April, Benn was quick to push for the rematch, which Hearn feels is a sign of his growing confidence.

"I think he took this fight because he believes he can win it this time," Hearn said.

"He was too small last time, physically, but he still made it a 50/50 with his tenacity and ability.

"The long-term [goal] for Conor Benn is to win a welterweight world title but that can wait."

The first fight was high on drama - from Benn's failed doping tests to egg-slaps, last-minute fines and a surprise appearance from Chris Eubank Sr on fight night.

Hearn believes the sequel could be even bigger if the fighters' legendary fathers, Nigel Benn and Eubank Sr, are involved from the start.

"This time the difference may be Eubank Sr is part of the promotion," Hearn said. "That hour before the first fight will never be matched. The fight itself will be matched. I think it will be the 13th round back again."

The rematch announcement came as a surprise after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, confirmed the bout on social media.

"The announcement caught everyone by surprise, including Eubank. Turki announced the fight without telling anyone. Team Eubank reached out to me right after the announcement [a bit confused]," Hearn said.

Eubank has yet to publicly comment on the bout and he and his team have not responded to a request for comment from BBC Sport, but Hearn is confident the fight will go ahead.

"The only reason fights don't happen is because of the money," Hearn said. "The money is set and the money is massive. No-one loves money more than Eubank. It will happen."

Conor Benn intends to ‘take Eubank’s head off’ in rematch

Conor Benn says he plans to “take Chris Eubank Jnr’s head off” when they fight again later this year.

The bout, announced for September 20 without a venue, sees the boxers renew their hostilities from April, when they battled through 12 frenetic rounds at Tottenham’s soccer stadium in North London.

Eubank, who has been very quiet and is yet to post about the announced rematch on his own socials, claimed a narrow and hard-fought decision.

“I wanted the earliest date,” Benn said on DAZN. “I’m always ready. I want to correct my wrongs. It was experience gained and lessons learned and I plan on adapting everything to get the W. It was one hell of a fight and I’ve no doubt September 20 will be even better.”

Benn was talking in Manchester where he was ringside to watch another Eubank, Harlem, lose a technical decision to Jack Catterall after a clash of heads brought about an early night for both boxers. Benn had even been in the locker-rooms supervising Eubank’s hand-wrapping ahead of the main event. Harlem is cousins with Chris Eubank Jnr, and had previously called out Benn to fight at welterweight.

Until the headclash, the bout with Catterall had largely been quiet and tactical – as expected – but Benn again promised war once again on September 20.

“I’m blessed to be able to entertain the public,” he added. “At the end of the day, it’s the entertainment business. I want to give people value for money. Like me personally or not, like how I am or not, as long as what I do in that ring delivers entertainment, that’s what makes me happy.”

Benn’s promoter at Matchroom, Eddie Hearn, said the venue was set but that it was down to Turki Alalshikh to announce it formally.

“The venue, I want to say it now but I’ll leave that to Turki Alalalshikh,” he said.

“This time around, I think the difference is the experience and the activity. Don’t forget, those types of fights take a lot out of fighters, but they take more out of the older man [Eubank, in this instance]. The man that’s a little more war torn.”

“I’m excited to get back, get the ball rolling and move on to the WBC world title,” added Benn.

“He [Chris Eubank Jnr]’s still an idiot. Nothing [about Benn’s approach will be different]. I’m gonna go in there and try to take his head off.”

Benn lost for the first time in 24 fights, with the 28-year-old moving to 23-1 (14 KOs), while the 35-year-old Eubank is 35-3 (25 KOs).

Chris Eubank Jr fined for misuse of social media after sauna controversy before Conor Benn fight

The British Boxing Board of Control has handed Chris Eubank Jr a £10,000 fine for misuse of social media after holding a hearing to examine his apparent use of a sauna to make weight for the Conor Benn fight; Eubank must pay the fine if he is to be licensed for the rematch with Benn

Chris Eubank Jr has been fined £10,000 for misuse of social media by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Eubank must pay the fine before the Board will license him for his next fight, the rematch with Conor Benn announced for September 20.

The Board's Southern Area Council held a hearing for Eubank Jr last week to look into his weight-making for his April bout with Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Eubank Jr appeared to have violated the Board's rules when he posted footage on social media that suggested he was using a sauna to make weight.

Before boxing Benn Eubank had to make 160lbs at the official weigh-in, as well as being contracted to be no more than 10lbs higher than that limit on the morning of the fight.

Although Eubank met the fight day rehydration clause, he missed weight the day before when he scaled 160.05lbs.

But it's the alleged use of a sauna to make weight for a fight that is against the Board's rules.

However, from evidence provided by Eubank and his team, the Board inquiry ruled that he was not guilty of using a sauna on the day of the weigh-in, though considered him guilty of improper use of social media.

The Board's Southern Area Council stated: "Mr. Eubank Jnr. was found to be in breach of Regulation 25 for misuse of social media.

"The Southern Area Council fined Mr. Eubank Jnr. the sum of £10,000.

"Mr. Eubank Jnr. was confirmed as arriving late for the official weigh-in ceremony for the contest in question and received a severe reprimand placed on his file from the Southern Area Council."

Despite winning the Benn fight, Eubank was hospitalised afterwards and revealed that primarily he had needed to be treated to recover from dehydration so the weight limit for his next fight will remain a matter of close scrutiny.

It's not the first fine levied on Eubank by the Board. He was handed a £100,000 penalty for slapping Benn with an egg in the build-up to their first fight.
