I could see a draw, a narrow decision either way or a KO win for Mercer. Just depends on how on Mercer is that day. If he gives one of his sluggish performances he could easily be beaten by Ruddock. If he's as sharp as he can be at his best he likely KO's him in a slugfest.

I figure more often than not a close decision for Mercer is what we'd get, but it'd always be a competitive fight.

Pretty much agree. The Mercer that fought Holyfield, Lewis, and Morrison would have beaten Ruddock. The one from the Jesse Ferguson fights would not have.

Mercer who fought Holyfield, Lewis and the Duke would beat Ruddock by decision or late round stoppage or Ruddock would beat the Mercer who fought Larry Holmes and the first Jesse Ferguson fight by decision.
