He only had a one fight deal with them. He's a free agent.
I think there was a rematch clause last night. Not sure how that works if he was with Matchroom going in.

Also I don’t think a rematch is a good idea anyway. Simpson shouldn’t fight at 168 anymore and Troy is too small for 175.

Be interesting to see what they both do next.

The ref is getting a lot of criticism on here (rightly so) but I hope Simpson drops his trainer after this. The towel has to come in there. It’s just irresponsible.

I’ve thought for a while that he takes too many shots. He’s either not capable, not listening or his defence isn’t being worked on enough.

At the weigh in for his last fight I noticed him having a quite lengthy chat with Shane McGuigan in the summer who was up for the Azim fight that never happened. I’d like him to go there but I think it’s more likely he’d go to someone like Dave Coldwell or Grant Smith who are local.

I also think he does a bit too much with fans close up to fights. Doing meet & greets to hand tickets out in fight week seems a bit much to me. After he weighed in for the Zucco fight he was stood about posing for photos for a good 30 minutes when he looked very gaunt.

There’s a fine balance when you’re a ticket seller of doing too much to keep the fans coming.

Well done to Williamson. Hopefully he gets another headline fight on the BBC off the back of it.

A bit of a shame for Simpson, but the weight game can make or break you.

He’s triggered the rematch clause I thought he would have moved up in weight after that

I'm shocked as he was already talking about moving up in weight about a year ago.

Geeze, that footage of the judge looking deviated to see Callum get knocked down is a very bad look.

Is the rematch a good idea?
Obviously for Simpson it is an opportunity to get his titles back and then push on to a world.

However if it goes the same again, he is looking at retirement.

I think it's better to get a little win back, at light heavy, he should still get a world title shot, as a voluntary champs love taking on a vulnerable fighter.

Especially if the money was right. At light heavy I think the titles will be spread out soon

Buatsi or Smith shouldn't be hard to make, maybe Eddie would make Smith difficult, but then I'm sure Fast Car sees this as an opportunity to detail Benny

The fight disciples are moral crusaders now!

I hope someone manages to get one of the Brit "A star" refs, who have clearly been bent, on a secret recording one day where they admit their bentness.

Boxing being corrupt isn’t exactly breaking news lol. It’s the dodgiest sport out there, has been bent for over 100 years, not likely to change any time soon.

I'd put road cycling as the dodgiest sport but for different reasons.
Boxing is probably one of the dodgiest for abuse of it's participants.

IBF just ordered talks for it's vacant title , seeing as Simpson was rated number 5 the loss to Williamson might of cost him that title shot.

Boxing is far more corrupt than road cycling.
