Evander Holyfield vs Ike Ibeabuchi (1999)

Post by 2128778 »

If Holyfield would've taken on unbeaten Ibeabuchi instead of accepting Lewis rematch.

Of course, providing that Ibeabuchi isn't getting locked.

Who would've won?

Holy has more skills and smarts, Ike is stronger and more durable. I'd take Evander, but I think it would be pretty close, with possibly several even rounds on my card at least. Evander by 2 pts

Me, too. By 1999, Evander Holyfield was flat out spent. Those three last fights with Mike Tyson and Michael Moorer worn him out. Evander should have retired in 1997.

Ike Ibeabuchi in that time could have seriously hurt Holyfield. Ibeabuchi by knockout late in 10th round.
