Tyson Fury has engineered this situation in my opinion 'or he has played a very big part. All of the sudden on the brink of the fight being made, he decided to distance himself from Queensbury boxing.

Note: When both Queensbury boxing and Eddie Hearn have developed a great business working relationship in recent years 'for me personally, this is a deceptive ploy by Tyson Fury to make this fight overly difficult to make.

He has done this many times before when the opponent is Anthony Joshua 'Fury also took his time to rematch Deontay Wilder'.

The fight should be staged in Great Britain 'and surely Tyson Fury knows this. It seems like only Anthony Joshua and his team are rallying for this fight to be in Great Britain' etc.

Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn 'remain firm' on Tyson Fury showdown taking place in UK

Promoter Eddie Hearn insists that he and Anthony Joshua are still battling to ensure the heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury, slated for November, takes place in the UK.

Boxing Scene recently reported that the contest is all but set for New York, with Madison Square Garden the venue. Turki Alalshikh, alongside streaming platform Netflix, are understood to prefer the US due to a belief that it will generate a far greater broadcast audience.

Most parties, and there is several vying for some kind of ownership, are believed to have agreed on New York, with deposits being paid to Madison Square Garden. With one crucial exception.

Joshua, stipulated in his original contract that the bout must occur on home soil, a fact that Hearn has constantly reiterated since the beginning of this long and winding saga. Boxing Scene understands that Fury’s contract did not have the same condition, however.

There was briefly talk that the bout might be staged at London’s Wembley Stadium. However, with Alalshikh requesting ringwalks no earlier than 2am, that talk appeared to fizzle out.

Dana White, of Zuffa Boxing, has also had plenty to say on the matter. He has promised that he will be the event’s promoter and has long known where the bout will take place. He repeated those claims this week.

“We’re the ones that have done all the deals for this fight,” White told Sky Sports. “I did the deal for the venue, that’s why I know where the venue is. At the end of the day, here’s the truth, you’re going to go where the money is.”

Hearn, though quick to point out that New York has not been refused by Team Joshua, has again been forced to make clear his charge’s contract would need to be rewritten before the bout between two British heavyweights can take place in America.

I feel like myself and Anthony Joshua are the last men standing, with the Union Jack, saying ‘we shall not be moved’,” Hearn told Track Radio. “But in reality, we’re doing everything we can to keep this fight in the UK. [New York] can’t be [a done deal] because it’s a breach of contract, unless we agree.

“By the way, I’m not saying there’s no chance of us agreeing, but at the moment we remain firm. Anthony Joshua’s instruction to me is, ‘we’re fighting for it in the UK, do everything you can to get this fight in the UK.’

“But we also understand we’re under a lot of pressure. Netflix want it in America. Turki Alalshikh wants it in America. Sounds like Tyson Fury wants it in America. So, you know, we’ll keep fighting the fight but I can’t tell you how it’s going to play out.”

I wonder whether all this kerfuffle about the Joshua-Fury bout being staged in the US is simply a ploy to keep the fight in the media spotlight - to increase hype.

Staging the contest in New York doesn’t make sense, because fighter purses will be exposed to enormous US taxation, fewer stadium ticket sales, and fewer UK PPV buys, due to televising the bout and its fight-week build-up at an inconvenient time for the British audience.

@EddieHearn if you want the fight in the UK, then you should've put up the money, you keep pleading for Fury-Joshua to be in the UK, but the real powers are putting the event in New York City's Madison Square Garden November 20 because the real powers @Turki_alalshikh & Netflux are putting up the money. Public lobbying, but not putting up the money is a bad look & it is how Eddie Hearn moves nowadays in the year 2026. And that tells you all you need to know.

‘Everybody else wants the fight in America’: Eddie Hearn talks difficulty in staging Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua in the UK

The long-awaited British heavyweight fight still hasn’t had its venue finalized.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn was just recently asked for an update for a proposed heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, which still hasn’t officially had its venue announced. In recent months it’s been a big talking point about where the fight actually takes place, and while the UK would seem to be the obvious choice, it seems that others involved are more keen on bringing the fight Stateside.

So, when asked about where things currently stand, Hearn says the fight is being proposed for Madison Square Garden in New York City, despite his feeling that it’s better suited to take place in front of home fans.

“We signed for this fight in the UK,” Hearn said. “We are desperate to deliver this fight for UK fans. However, everybody else wants the fight in America — Turki Alalshikh, Netflix. I can’t speak on behalf of Tyson Fury, I don’t see him kicking up a fuss. Madison Square Garden. So, they’re telling us this is the place it’s going to do the biggest numbers, this is the place it’ll be the biggest fight.

“I disagree. But at the end we’ll fight and we’ll fight and we’ll fight to a point where they’ve breached the contract by doing it in America, or we come to an agreement. Now, these people are our partners and our friends as well. So, it’s very difficult because we wouldn’t have signed the agreement in its form if it was in America. So what we can’t do is just change it like that…We also want the fight to deliver for everybody.

“But as a Brit, as a British promoter, as someone who’s pushed for this fight for so long, I just feel it’s a shame to take it anywhere other than Britain…I don’t know if we’re going to win that race but we’re doing everything we can for British fight fans and I’m becoming very unpopular in that circle by doing so.”

I don't think begging and pleading is going to work 'Anthony Joshua is the bigger global commercial fighter; those are just the pure statistics'.

Note: If Eddie Hearn and Matchroom signed to make the fight in the UK 'then the fight should be in Great Britain'.

I just think this entire situation has been engineered by Tyson Fury 'he has definitively been the biggest driving factor in the recent difficulties in this fight being made'.

Both Tyson Fury's and Anthony Joshua's fan base 'is heavily centred in Great Britain. They are both Global fighters, but none of them have cracked the America' etc.

Frank~Warren shares true feelings on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua taking place in the US

Frank~Warren has spoken out over the continued controversy surrounding where the long-awaited Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight will be held.

After being linked to a battle with one another for over a decade, former two-time world heavyweight champions Fury and Joshua will finally square off later this year, but the current biggest talking point is over the location for the bout.

Many fans have raised frustrations that it appears that the clash between the two British stars won’t be in the UK, with Madison Square Garden in New York believed to be the current frontrunner for where they will collide.

Queensberry Promotions chief Warren has been part of Fury fights in both the UK and the USA, and speaking to IFL TV, he sympathised with those unhappy that it may be in the USA, but admitted that the clash simply being on is the most important thing.

“I think it would be disappointing obviously for the British fans, but having said that, the fight is on. If it’s on in the UK, great, if it’s not, it means 90,000 fans that would see it won’t see it live in the UK, but the millions who will watch it on TV will still see it on TV.”

Dana White claimed that two major hurdles to a long-discussed fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have already been resolved: the venue agreement and the broadcast deal.

White stated that TKO Group, the parent company of Zuffa Boxing, had negotiated both arrangements.

Dana White: "I did the deal for the venue, that's why I know where the venue is. I did the deal."

Teremoana stops Savage, set for spot on Fury-Joshua undercard

Teremoana Teremoana produced the result he promised: another quick-fire knockout to stop DeAndre Savage in five minutes.

Tony Harrison accepted he only had a short training camp with his fighter, but the result was still an emphatic one as Teremoana employed patience before scything down Savage inside five minutes.

Much was said about the 28-year-old's need for a step-up in competition and during his first 10-rounder, he softened up an audacious American to head and body early before his fight-ending power showed itself.

Savage (11-2, 11 KOs) was biting on feints from the first few moments and had the wide-eyed look of a man regretful at what he'd signed up for, such was Teremoana's imposing presence and speed.

Andrew Moloney on commentary noted the 35-year-old's tendency to lean to his right and he hadn't landed anything in the opening frame, just circling before absorbing a leaping one-two combination in the final seconds.

"Everything will come together," said the 2024 Olympian's coach Gareth Williams between rounds and soon, the job was done.

An overhand right buckled Savage's legs, then he was countered with a straight right after advancing. Another two-punch combo left him wobbling, another shot sent him staggering to a knee and he stayed there, being counted out by referee Phil Austin.

Teremoana lamented the inability to get more rounds under his belt, but was nonetheless satisfied with a more measured display before hinting at returning on the Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury undercard sometime in November.

"My first main event, I'm just very glad to have such an awesome man by my side in Eddie Hearn, who's going to take me all the way to the top. Everyone can see, I'm a lot more patient, the punches found their mark, I was hoping he was going to get up, that annoys me, but I'm looking forward to the challenges that come.

"What I've heard along the grapevine is I should be on the AJ-Fury undercard, the old heavyweights giving up their mantle so it'd be so good to get the new generation there, show them us Aussies have the thunder from down Under.

"It feels really good [to be on the undercard], great opportunity, this was just another step forward and this fight come November, another towards my goal of being world champion and then undisputed. What a blessing."

Matchroom chief Hearn echoed his sentiments, having been frustrated by domestic-level heavyweights rejecting offers to fight him previously.

"That's definitely the plan, we've got to step up the opposition and did that tonight, supposedly. Teremoana is too good, you see the fear on Savage's face, his eyes were popping out of his head and he didn't even land clean, we need to find someone who will get up.

"You've got to be a little bit patient, it's a build, we must face tougher opponents because he's got to do rounds but Australia has the best chance it ever has to have a heavyweight superstar, he can bring world heavyweight boxing here.

"The team are doing a great job, he punches so hard and as soon as he lands, the fight changes. If there's ever someone to crack the code in Australia and make it mainstream, it's this man."

allegedly Provides Update On Fury vs Joshua: “If They Don’t Agree, It Won’t Happen”

allegedly has responded to Eddie Hearn’s recent threat about calling off the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

The path has seemingly been cleared for these two to fight ever since both came through their most recent tune-up fights in late July.

Fury blew off the cobwebs for a second time following his year of retirement in 2025 by beating first Arslanbek Makmudov in April on points, then forcing Mariusz Wach to retire on his stool after seven rounds on July 28.

The night afterwards, Joshua boxed for the first time since being involved in a car accident in which he lost two friends. He was knocked down twice in round one by the unheralded Kristian Prenga but gathered himself and got an impressive KO win in the second round.

The main stumbling block seems to be the location. British fight fans want the showdown in the UK, and Eddie Hearn has said he and ‘AJ’ are pushing hard for that, but are under a huge amount of pressure from Turki Alalshikh and Netflix, who want to host it in the US to reach a wider global audience.

Speaking to allegedly, Fury’s promoter Warren remained confident the clash will still go ahead regardless.

“Tyson Fury has his agreement, which states something different. The fight will happen. I’ve heard what Eddie has said. They’re either going to agree to it or not. If they don’t agree to it then the fight won’t happen.

“Tyson signed for the fight back in January; the fight was supposed to happen in September. They were supposed to have a warm-up fight in September; unfortunately there was that terrible, tragic accident that ‘AJ’ was in where he lost two of his best friends, and that held everything up, but the fight I understand, will be November, and the venue will be announced in due course.”

Hearn has threatened to pull out of the contest if a venue announcement is made without their consent. Meanwhile, a number of people in the sport think Joshua could do with another warm-up fight to get in the best possible state for what is a hugely important fight at the end of both men’s careers.

People need to stop meandering around this situation 'and call Tyson Fury out for once again engineering a situation to GET out of this fight vs. Anthony Joshua. He has done it every single time throughout his career'.

Note: I knew, EVERYONE knew a long time ago 'that Anthony Joshua signed for this fight, to be in Great Britain. Those are the facts'.

I personally think if this fight is not announced within the next 2 weeks 'it is almost definitively not happening this year'.

If the negotiations get to difficult I think Anthony Joshua should just focus on pursuing a World title etc.

If this fight doesn't happen it diminishes both careers in my opinion, and worse than that, it's a big blow to the British Boxing scene which has been having the most success in its history so far this century.

Well, Anthony Joshua's ambition is clear 'he wants to become a 3 times World Heavyweight Champion. And going by his past exploits, Joshua at the very least is going to give his all to achieve those goals'.

Nobody really knows why Tyson Fury came out of retirement? To make noise? Attention? What are his ambitions? Because if Tyson Fury wanted a title fight next, he could get one vs. the winner of Wardley vs. Dubois II or against Agit Kabayel'.

There would be no issues in making those fights 'Tyson Fury is still ranked very high. He has lost fights, but he has never been knocked out'.

Other than good business, Tyson Fury has not got much to gain in fighting Joshua 'it is Anthony Joshua who has more to gain, and can potentially sky rocket his career once again if he beats Fury. Which I personally think Joshua will win via knockout'.

Overall Anthony Joshua has achieved more in boxing than Tyson Fury 'Olympic Champion and the former 2 times unified world heavyweight Champion' etc.

Fury-Joshua saga frustrates Dana White

Dana White is lookin' for a fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

But getting the deal across the finish line has been a knock-down-drag-out war on the negotiations table.

Fury and Joshua have finally agreed to meet in a "Battle of Britain" that would feature former heavyweight champions from the United Kingdom.

Now, the only question that remains is exactly where and when the fight will take place.

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn is insisting the fight should take place in the UK, as they've originally signed on for, he's stated.

White, the frontman for Zuffa Boxing and UFC, as well as other involved parties, have had other ideas, including bringing the mega fight to the United States.

"Listen, this saga, we'll see how this whole thing plays out. I mean they either want to fight, or they don't. I don't know," White said on Saturday during the UFC 330 post-fight press conference in Philadelphia.
"We did the television and venue deal."

When White was asked if the fight will take place in New York, he said:

"We'll see. Listen, to make a fight, two guys have to want to fight – period, end of story. Contracts, and this and that – there's a lot of money for grabs in this fight. Do you want to fight? or not? I don't give a s*** one way or the other. It's up to them."
White was then asked if he'd be happy to stage the fight in the UK.

"Yeah, listen, I don't give a s***. The fight should have happened 10 years ago. Is it going to happen now? We'll see."
Last month, White blasted the tune-up concept that preceded the planned pitting after Joshua (30-4, 26 KOs) survived a serious scare against Kristian Prenga, getting knocked down twice in the first round before rebounding to knock out Prenga in the second round in Saudi Arabia.

On the previous day, Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) stopped Mariusz Wach in seven rounds in Thailand.

My main concern with the constant stalling of this most recent fight announcement 'is how it will affect the fighter's preparation'.

Note: In such a big fight 'and in all fights, they can be won or lost in training camp. Tyson Fury seems to be doing a lot of promoting for this fight that has not been made, I don't think this a great way for him to start his preparations'.

As I have stated before? I still would not be surprised if this fight did not happen 'Eddie Hearn should be looking at other future opponents for Joshua'.

Because in my opinion Tyson Fury has been spooked 'from the very first moment he was pressured into this fight. He has engineered all of the difficulties in the fight negotiations'.

If Tyson Fury was still closely aligned with Queensbury boxing 'this fight would have been made months ago' etc.

WBC will approve Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury as heavyweight eliminator

Should we get that far, and heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury share a ring, the WBC would approve the contest as an official eliminator according to the sanctioning body’s president, Mauricio Sulaiman.

Fury, 36-2-1 (25 KOs), currently sits in the No. 1 position with the WBC and is a former champion. The fifth-ranked Joshua, 30-4 (27 KOs), has held the other three major belts but is yet to wear the green and gold of the WBC.

A closer look at the WBC rankings, and specifically the fighters that sit between 38-year-old Fury and Joshua, 36, perhaps illustrate why this isn’t just the WBC being over eager to put their mark on a big fight.

Ranked at No. 2 is Lawrence Okolie, who is yet to clear his name following a failed test earlier this year. Three and four are Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgovic, respectively. Those two do battle for the vacant IBF title on August 29 and will see their individual rankings with the WBC affected: the winner will be removed; the loser will surely plummet.

Thus, Fury-Joshua as a WBC eliminator – should the fight happen, of course – does appear to make sense.

"The WBC would absolutely approve that as a final eliminator, because Tyson Fury is the number one contender of the division,” Sulaiman explained to Betway Insider. “And the WBC absolutely would be proud to be part of that promotion.

“Both fighters are tremendous. Tyson Fury is one of the greatest ambassadors ever of the WBC. We are so proud, he has always been very friendly, very kind, inside and outside of the ring.

“Anthony Joshua, the WBC [was the first to rank him] when he started boxing. He was number two contender. When he had the opportunity from the IBF [to fight Charles Martin], he had to go the other way and that he was the WBC International Champion for several years, but that’s the way boxing is.

“Maybe this will be the time to bring Anthony Joshua to the WBC.”

Agit Kabayel, the currently holder of the WBC heavyweight title following Oleksandr Usyk’s decision to relinquish all of his belts, is thought to be close to announcing his first defense.

“We have given opportunity to [Kabayel’s promoter] Queensberry and Spencer Brown to try to find the best match possible for his debut as full world champion," Sulaiman said.

“We’ll wait a few more days to see if they have something in place. If not, then the WBC will come in a ruling.”

The WBC might not be the only sanctioning body keeping a close eye on the Joshua-Fury saga, however. In July, while talking to Boxing Scene, Fury’s manager Brown revealed he planned to approach the WBA with a request to put their ‘super’ title on the line.

That status ceased to exist when Usyk gave up this belts and left Murat Gassiev as the lone heavyweight titlist with the WBA.
