RIP "The Bazooka" Wilfredo Gomez

[scorpio83]

Have anyone know the sad news right now that the former 3-weight world champion "The Bazooka" Wilfredo Gomez who successfully defended his WBC Junior Featherweight Title 17 times and all by knockouts had passed away yesterday 19 days short of his 70th birthday.

RIP Champ

Condolences to his loved ones. A truly great fighter.

May he rest in peace. A great champion, considered as the greatest 122lbs-pounder that ever lived.

He was mostly known for his powerful punching power, stopping 32 fighters in a row and had 17 title defenses all won by knockout in the defense of his WBC World Super Bantamweight Crown.

Rest in peace, Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gomez. What a champion!

A good argument can be made that he was the best fighter ever developed on the island.

Best fighter ever at 122. To me, best fighter ever from PR

Seems like a good time to start going through a Gomez fights playlist in remembrance of one of Boxing's All time greats.

RIP Champ
