I have to agree - Jason Frost was a bloody good press officer and was dam good for Hennessy Sports - nope I am not being sarcastic either.

Putting the boxing banter and the b*llocks to one side that goes on in these forums - Frost was good - but those press releases were tedious, but how much was that down to Frost or what he was being told to do?

And just for the record I am big enough to say Hennessy is a good promoter too, got his marketting and PR stratedgy spot on - just don't like him as a person and feel very justified and qualified to say it.

I genuinely wish Frost all the best.
Let's face it, all press releases are an exercise in talking bollocks. I found some of Jason's mildly entertaining, which is about the best you can hope for.

I liked Harry Mullan's old comment about press conferences "Never attend press conferences, they're just telling you what they want you to hear."

It's all bollocks in other words, press releases are merely a necessary evil is all.

Sometimes press conferences can be entertaining if those attending have the b*llocks to ask some entertaining questions.

I have seen certain journalists at conferences who are there for the buffet and to grovel to a certain promoter - one in particular springs to mind.

Out of interest, is Wellington/Frost a fan of the sport or just working as a journalist. I suppose a PO doesn't necessarily have to be a fan. The reason why I am asking is because a few posters would try and engage him in some conversation and he wouldn't post anything other than his releases.

He could have got another username. Nowt stopping him posting now is there? Especially in response to this speculation.

But is he a fan? Does he know his stuff?

He first started up britishboxing.com all those years ago before Robert Waterman at secondsout.com bought him out because he was a potential rival!!!. The site was becoming very successful - Waterman realised that quickly and offered enough money.

Oh, cheers... I used to really like the site. He was big Matthew Hatton fan (had him as his #1 one to watch fighter) but definately knew his stuff.

Stegsie and Boxing Chat still engage in debate, so I don't see why Wellington couldn't?
And i'm sure there is no-one more cut throat as a boss than FW
