Entertaining mismatches

I was watching Brannon/Roy Jones and was quite entertained on how Brannon who had close to negative one to zero chance against Jones but was willing to eat massive bombs and get KTFO. I was wondering if there were any fights that are on youtube that would be entertaining to watch.

my list includes:
Robinson/LaMotta VI
Mayweather/Gatti
Pretty much alot of fights of Tyson pre-Douglas
Hagler/Hamani
Hearns/Duran

Good point. Ali-Williams was a real two-sided affair that went down to the wire. So was Foreman-Frazier I.

Obviously, he didn't specify mismatches relative to betting, did he? Therefore, there is more than one interpretation for the word i.e. what people thought going in, or what actually happened. Pretty straight-forward.

I'm with Decagon on this one. I think the point of the thread is about fights you KNEW were going to be mismatches, but were still a decent watch. Foreman-Frazier, for example, was actually an UPSET, not a mismatch.

foreman/holyfield. A lot of fight writers thought t his was a mismatch...that the older, slower and fatter foreman had no chance. one "expert' ...well known, can't recall name, might have been larry merchant..said he'd leave the country if foreman won. after the fight somone said "he should at least leave town." holyfield won by a big margin, but foreman was always in there, stalking and he hurt holyfied a couple of times, and hoyfield was the one staying away in the final round. one sided decision, but the suspense was always there as holyfield couldn't stopr foreman's forward march...and he was always a threat. ..and the crowd was cheering him on.

very entertaining fight.....one writer..sports illustrated maybe...said it was the mose entertaining "one-sided fight" he'd ever seen.

What made the Holyfield-Foreman fight so entertaining is that Evander just loves to trade. Even though he should have picked away, used speed, youth and skills, he wanted to prove he was a champion and dig his toes in slugging with one of histories best power punching sluggers.

If it was alot of other champions, they would have boxed Foreman's ears off, regardless of how credible Foreman was at that late stage. He was a lumbering power house who could be picked off. Holyfoeld however for better or worse wanted to be a true champion and trade. Great fight and like you said it was in many ways a mis-match but both men made it entertaining and Foreman showed he was no joke.

i like mundine vs soliman... i never thought sam stood a chance he was always to small for 168 and he was so tuff he just hept coming at mundine he was getting hurt so often but proved he was one tuff s.o.b.

there is alot of roy jones fights that are mismatches buit still good to watch rjj vs woods was entertaining but only because roy is a entertaining fighter to watch does so many incredible things(well used to anyway)

That is right!!! That was a fight between a professional vs an hyped amateur...Cooney had good account of himself and made it interesting while it lasted, but Holmes was too much skill and school for him.

Holmes Snipes fall in this catagory.

I think someone mentioned Duran Hearns, which was not a mismatch, it was a fluke. Some say it could/would have been repeated....I would bet heavy that in fact that match would be competitive in most cases.

You bet, great description of that fight....you can even honestly wonder if Foreman could have pulled a "Moorer Moment" off if the thing went another 3 rounds. Holy was giving great respect and Foreman looked like he had another 3 round in him easy. For a guy who was getting pretty beat up Foreman had a very relaxed, optimistic and almost serene persona going into those last rounds.
