George fought all the big hitters apart from Tyson and never got laid out

holmes did get dropped a few times when careless in his prime. but to be able to get up from the shot shavers dropped him with, that is just awesome. excellent chin on holmes, definitely.

Ronaldo Snipes stuck him on his arse too if I remember rightly? That said, Holmes got up to win.

I chatted with Earnie a few years ago at a function and he said Holmes was 'out' but woke up when he banged his head on the canvas. Holmes had superb recuperative powers and also a superb defence. Holyfield said Holmes was the best defensive fighter he ever faced, and that was an old Holmes.
