Gareth, when was this photo taken?

that picture and the others on the Eastside ABC site were taken 2 or 3 days before the last fight, as far as I'm aware that was the only time Sexton was in the East of the city and near any possible loyalist murals.

I just watched the full UTV posted link there for the first time and it shows a fair bit more than they did on the TV.

To be completely honest with everyone on the boards, I think the pictures that where shown in the press might have started this BS. If they were the ones with Sexton with his fist through the poster for the fight. This poster and those taking the pictures were actually brought to the photo shoot (late might I add too) by the Irish News photographers. Now I did take the same shots, as they took their pictures, and they can be seen on the Eastside ABC site. I am now wondering how these pictures might have been tagged in the Irish News papers before the fight ? If the paper has turned this into an us and them PR stunt I will be very very upset as will Alan Wilton the owner of Eastside ABC. If anyone still has a copy of the the Irish News coverage from this fight build up I would be very greatful to get a look at it.

Now if Sexton asks to use our gym again for a PR photo shoot, what do we say ? Talk about a rock and a hard place.

hope the real pictures cleared this issue up.
Thanks Gareth, it's nice to get the facts and clear up the shite that was said about Sexton.

with all due respect it doesnt clear anything up - all it does is prove he was in East Belfast.

For that I give a shit anymore to be honest but until Rogie says what he meant by saying that then it isnt "cleared up"

Sligo, I am know for a fact Sexton was driven to East Belfast from his hotel and dropped back by one of our guys. As far as I know he never ventured back in the East of the city again after that open training session. I doubt Rogie will define what he menat by what he said (unless of course Alio hears about this when he returns from holidays and kicks off that his club is being slammed as secterian).

I think we can all agree though that if the pictures I have posted are the only ones of Sexton infront of any Belfast murals, then they were not loyalist murals and that he was not trying to stir anything up. Rogan has quite possibly been misinformed, (not his fault either, tensions run high before fights).

I just hope that Eastside ABC doesnt end up with a bad name out of all this. as a club they strive to combat secterianism in boxing, as any other AMA club in Ireland and they will tell you the same. As for Pro's speak to Maloney, Gary Hyde, Paddy Hyland, Brian Peters. Eastside ABC and Team ALio professional boxing are all about the sport of boxing and nothing else!

Geez, why not just get on your knees and let Rogan have his way with you. Talk about ignoring the facts in awe of your love for him.

Gary, I agree that is these are the only photos invloved then Sexton is in the clear and Rogie was misinformed. I hope that is the case on both counts as well.

Rightly or wrongly Eastside is recognised as "the" Protestant club in the city - the whole nonsense that went on with with Belshaw and Rogan a few years ago didnt do any of their respective club any credit - not that the clubs themselves had or would want anything to do with it but the association was there and people could see metaphoric battle lines being drawn.

Anyway, I would liek to drop this subject and get back to the real reason to dislike Sexton - and thats because he is a deluded, arrogant, yella, sneaky, cheatin dick! ;)

Form what I know of Sam Sexton within Norwich, I have not heard a bad word said about him. I was at an amateur boxing night the other week and he was there and seemed very down to earth. Terrez have you heard anything untoward about Sam?

Rogie is the one stirring it up in an effort to make it even more intimidating for Sam. Rogie obviously isn't content with the fact that Sam is fighting him in his back yard as the champion and after already beating him there.

Maybe Rogie doesn't fancy his chances.... and why is everyone on here up his arse a mile?!

"Whats that on my moustache? More giz? HHmmmm, tasty!"

I dont disbelieve anything that Gareth has said and infact I hope what he said is true and its all been a misunderstanding - in my opinion Gareth is a very credible source.

As for believing what Rogie said - I think you will have to read my opening posts again - a. "if what Rogie is saying here is true." and . b. "If he did what Rogie is suggesting then that will seriously backfire on him. But i will reserve judgement on that one until i know more."

I would say that those sound like the words of a man that isnt prepared to take someone's words at face value and would prefer to have clarification before making any decision.

Saying that nothing has altered my opinion that Sexton is a dickhead.

Mayweather jr turned his back on Ricky Hatton in the 5th or 6th, so does that mean Floyd conceded that fight?

If Sexton purposely turned his back on Rogan then he can't complain if he's decked on the back of the napper. There's only one reason Rogan didn't win that fight, and that was because he thought Sexton's corner had pulled Sexton out.

He has no one else to blame, but himself. Nice guys finish last, and all that crap.

No, because when Mayweather did that he wasnt getting his arse handed to him and he wasnt falling around the ring like a punch-drunk alki unlike Sam Sexton.

Context my friend... everything in context!

This is gonna be a right tasty rematch.

But theoretically it's the same. Regardless of Sexton being on Enzo Macc legs. You can't stop it, because "he turned his back." To be honest, I can't even remember him doing that. At worst, Sexton has a point took off for spitting the gumsheild out, IMO.

Rogan KO4 in the rematch.

Lets not be daft, it isnt the same at all. Theory or no theory, the reality is that everything has to be taken on its merits and in context.

I understand that it's different circumstances, but come on. You can't stop a fight because a hurt fighter turns his head. God, I think every hurt fighter does that. I've even done it. If Sexton got hurt more by a shot landing to the back of his head, then it's his fault, IMO.

Of course you can, especially if he's just had the granny smashed out of him. But lets be honest here Sexton did more than just turn his head away from Rogan. Sexton's action were asking for the fight to be stopped. Its a sure sign of a fighter's distress when they drop their hands and turn away or dis-engage completely from their opponent.

Sexton is a lucky boy that Dave Parris put in a disgraceful performance that night.

I disagree.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnYoXbLSWGg

Do me a favour, watch that and tell me at what precise moment Sexton PURPOSELY "turns his back" on Martin Rogan. If you say 2mins 25secs then no offence, but you have never been in that position in a ring. Rogan turns him around more than Sexton actually turns himself around. He's hurt, got no legs, so Rogan smothering his own work there turns Sexton around. The main point is Sexton didn't concede no fight. Sexton should've had a point off for the gumsheild, but that's it, mate.

I think its clear to see for all at which point Sexton dis-engages in the fight and clearly wants a way out. And no, its not at 2min 25sec.

He's pointing to his gumsheild, as the referee hasn't seen it come out. He's not disengaged at all, he's trying to get more time. Just like Corrales and Mezaache did. I'm guessing you thought Corrales conceded the fight to Castillo twice then, mate?

And at what precise moment does Sexton PURPOSELY turns his back and concede the fight?
