I've checked his record- he fought for it once, and won, but didn't defend it- it looks like it was a hastily arranged fight because the previous opponent for the WBO title had failed a medical.

What weight do you think you'll finally campaign at eventually?

At the moment you've been floating between 140 and 147.

I think light-welter should be your natural weight, if so, do you think a fight with Khan will ever come off? i know he's 20 odd fights ahead of you, but he's younger.

It's a fight i would like to see, although i can't see Warren matching two of his stable against each other.

But anyway, is it a fight that's a target of yours?

And I am setting no standards on this forum. I don't wish to do, but I am a fan of the sport, like many others on here who thought that Gavin's response was silly, to say the least. Three fights into his career some people now think he's a prat. Is that good?

In your last paragraph as well you seem to have gotten me wrong massively. I don't mind him coming on here and venting, but there's different ways to do it. People who don't have their tongues up his arse will see that that post was embarrassing, and cringeworthy.

And both were claimig to ve the best in there respective divisions at the time they were both WBU champions, A fighter makes a belt not the other way around. I remember Lennox saying he was the best when he held the IBO!!!

I have no problems with fighters fighting for the WBU, IBO, IBA, ect, ect, belts. I have a problem with fighters who have won them proclaiming to be some sort of world champion. On Warren bills didn't WBU fights get classified as "world championship boxing?"

I think if we read through the thread, there are many posters who actually agree with the original poster and despise the WBU. Personally, I dislike the WBU greatly. Frankie Gavin came on here and was very childish and let himself down whichever way you look at it. It's good to have boxers on here, but they need to understand what the forum is like, they are going to get criticised from time to time. Frankie Gavin wasn't even criticized in the thread until he posted what he posted.

I don't think anyone on the thread actually wants Gavin to go down the WBU title route.

Can you imagine if Amir Khan/Audley Harrison/Ricky Hatton/Junior Witter came onto the forum? Just look at the threads about them, there is always some negativity in those threads and they are constantly criticised... and that is good because this is a forum. How would Audley react to the gloating posts about him being beaten? How would Witter react to people on the forum calling him Quitter Witter? How would Khan react to people saying he is a boring fighter and will get KO'd when he steps up? How would Hatton react to being called a conjob and heavily cricitised for going 40-0 against the fodder he faced and not even fighting Witter?

If those fighters were on the forum, the posters would have to refrain from posting anything negative about them because it seems that a fighter is always going to be right in some peoples eyes, as they want a fighter on the forum. And I think we all do. Perhaps there should be a new rule on the board, no criticising fighters/promoters who post here.

mlight welter mate my first fight was made at 10 st 4 i weighed 10st 3 an half an second an 3rd were at 10 2 an thats wat i weighed i have never trained day of weigh in an if did could of weighed 10st all 3 times but no need in makin weight til a title comes an i would like to fight khan 1 day his a world champion so to beat a former or reigning world champion would be great but i ent even area champ yet so wont be lookin that far until i have done enough as a pro to even throw my name in the same sentence as them sort of guys

Domenico Valentino and Alexei Tichtchenko, both superb amateurs and good wins - especially the win over Tichtchenko who breezed to the gold at Beijing.

Which is better suited of the two to the pro game do you think? Valentino was regarded as a bit of a puncher i believe and would you say he gave you a harder fight of the two ?

the fight with valentino was harder as it was my 6th fight of the tournament but i never thought none of them could punch but its amatuers u dont really have time to let power go at that level its more in out i saw tischenko take valentino apart on video but i think valentino lost in his mind going into the fight they are both very good fighters but tischenko is a small lightweight so an to win gold in beijing says how good he is when he should be featherweight imo an valentino is really fast an has long arms but leaves his feet behind so if u step back he falls in

yeah but lennox had major titles and happened to hold the IBO as well

saddest example is brodie (who actually deserved to win WBC title from jorrin). stopped by scott harrison by a body shot. interviewer asks him if this is the end, and says something like are you destined to be a nearly man? brodie, nearly in tears, says "what are you talking about? i had the WBF belt?"

Rhino - for the record we were still amusing ourselves with the arguments of Alexander v Farnell - so when Arnie fought Taks at the Velodrome that fight took place on 7 Jul 01 - I have openly stated since Arnie confronted me during the 1st In Jin Chi/Michael Brodie fight which took place on 18 Oct 03 - it was since that date we put aside our disagreements and are pals!!! - it actually happens Rhino - people bury the hatchet - luckily for me Arnie didnt bury his in my head!!!

So Mr Deserter the amazing Rhino revelation is not so and thus I am not busted at all - in addition I have stated it was open warfare so as to speak prior to myself and Arnie speaking on that night in Manchester!!! - you really do need to put that wooden spoon away!!!

I remember - on the night of that Arnie v Takaloo fight - David Barnes made his debut - myself and Rhino didn't know he was AWOL from the army at the time - but as we were still in the army I thought I would have a joke and instead of shouting good luck when he came out of the changing room for whatever reason I shouted out "its the military police" - he looked rather shocked - it wasn't until Audley fought Dominic Negus at Wembley Arena when I found out that David got sent down to a couple of months military jail - the memories!!!

just thought i would get you back for the one the other week about me tipping you off about MTG's victory (defeat) ....

at least my revelation was true, and it certainly got you coming up with all sorts of dates etc...

farnell has a nice little stable coming on

i can see bellew and gavin winning world titles and he seems to have a good relationship with his boxers which is a big thing for any boxer/trainer partnership

frankie would you like to go the traditonal route and fight for britsh/commonwealth/euro then world and maybe even throw in the irish title or just go straight for a world title ??

traditional way definately want a british title but its all down to frank an arnie so all i do is fight who i am told an go out there an do my best to beat them
