Haye V Valuev (merged)
Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
Way before this fight was made, I thought David could fight Valuev and win in the first three rounds. I just thought that Valuev would be wide open for the right cross down the pipe, Haye's favourite punch.
But whether it be the greater resistance of the big man, or the power lost when punching up, people don't seem to be able to hurt Valuev at all.
It Haye can get him out of there early, it's be quite a testament to his power.
But I have serious doubts now. To be sure, Valuev has looked dreadful in his last few fights, but Haye can be shaken and any punch with 320lbs behind it is going to have to brain rattling pop. Meantime, Haye's stamina is questionable, and the fact he's had five rounds since the Jurassic Epoch really doesn't bode well when he's going to have to keep it going with someone who weighs as much as a large family house leaning all over him every five seconds.
Haye should really win. If he doesn't, it's going to be a long road back. But I have my doubts.
Certainly, when the first bell rings, my heart will be pounding, and my veins tingling with adrenalin.

Valuev to retire on his stool after taking a one sided clinical battering.

I actually had a dream about this fight last nite and Haye got TKO'ed in the 8th round. I hope my dream doesnt come true!

Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
I see Valuev winning by late stoppage or points Haye will win the early rounds moving in and out making Valuev look slow and ordinary until Haye gets tired by fighting a bigger stronger guy, then he'll stand with Valuev and start getting caught either getting stopped or losing a close decision. But I wouldnt be surprised if Haye could keep it going and winning on points
Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
My fear is that Haye gets dragged in and Valuev leans all over him in the clinches. Haye will become tired very quickly and makes him a sitting duck to the big fella.
Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
I saw Haye on the Paul O'Grady show last week and while he no doubt surprised a few thousand viewers with his personality and articulation, he still doesn't look like a heavyweight to me.
Haye is obviously the better boxer, but I just can't see how on earth he is going to prove it over 12 rounds without getting hurt and stopped in the process.
But hey, this is boxing. Haye can dish out bombs and has the confidence to throw them. You never ever know. Maybe Valuev has poor recovery powers that he himself has yet to find out about...

Re: Haye vs Valuev has captured the British Public's interest
I picked up the Evening Standard on the way home from work and he's got a daily diary in there. It was a good read
So anyone actually going to pay for Haye vs Valuev ??
I aint paying for Haye vs Valuev. Valuev is terrible and is as entertaining as watching a sloth. Haye is only fighting Valuev because he want an alphabet title but doesnt want to fight the Klitscko's for one. George Groves and John Ruiz fighting journeyman hardly adds incentive to buy the ppv.

If I'm working I'll definately be buying it, if not I'll be finding a decent watering hole to watch it

Re: So anyone actually going to pay for Haye vs Valuev ??
yes me and my m8's making it a three way split £5 each and considering loads of other sport on e.g Cardiff v Swansea, Wales v All Blacks and so on, it's well worth making a night of it.

Going down the pub to watch it.
The opening post is a joke as well.

Everything that Riddick Blowe said makes sense, unfortunately.
Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
Valuev being a puncher isn't an issue. I think I could knock Haye out if I caught him on the top of his head. He's got to keep out of range and not get caught. If Haye takes a knee at all, he'll get done on points.
I say Haye should hit him once really hard in the balls right at the beginning of the fight. Just for laugh.

Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
You see, I don't understand this. Against Valuev, he'll probably weigh in at 230 or so, if not a little more, and he's, what?, six three?Kilburn wrote:I saw Haye on the Paul O'Grady show last week and while he no doubt surprised a few thousand viewers with his personality and articulation, he still doesn't look like a heavyweight to me.
So how is that not a heavyweight.
If he had the same flab on him as Arreola, he'd be not much less in weight.

Re: Is Haye-Valuev really worth paying for?
Anyone know the length of time Sky have scheduled for the live broadcast.
Is this only going to be a 2 hour show.

Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
Statistics of course say that Haye is a heavyweight now, but it takes a special fighter to move up from cruiser and boss the big guys who are there already.
Re: getting this in early - haye vs valuev
I dont think valuev realises just how hard David Haye hits and how fast he is.
If i think Haye will spark him in the 6th.

I hope to god you and valuev werent both naked and sweaty in this dream aswel lol.
Re: Is Haye-Valuev really worth paying for?
If anyone doesnt think this fight is worth buying, i would like to know what future fights they think are going to be more entertaining and worth shelling out the roberts for.
Re: Is Haye-Valuev really worth paying for?
Most of the people who sky are targeting to buy this ppv wont give a shit about the undercard. lots of people at work and friends who don't usually watch boxing are saying they will buy the ppv just for the haye fight. The marketing is working, i hope for david sake all the PR stuff hasn't effected his training and performs to his best ability. Be great for british boxing if he knocks him out.
Re: Is Haye-Valuev really worth paying for?
You wont need a DM for this fight which is FTA on 19e - I'm on a DM as well too btw, there amazing once set-up.Wales wrote:Ive got a dreambox, all I need is a dish and the missu to bugger off for a few days so I can put it up wihtout her knowing and Im away.

I really hope this one breaks the UK PPV boxing record, could do, a real shot in the arm for boxing...let's just hope Haye puts on a good show.
Not sure what the top 5 UK PPV boxing event were, Naz & Hatton was it?
