Deno1986, I agree with you in that Shinny deserved to keep his title simply becuase I scored it a draw. IMO it was a close fight. Barely a month seems to pass where a scoring controversy is thrown up.

LondonIrish, Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember seeing a far worse deliberate head but when Martin Power nutted Dale Robinson in the first round.

I also thought Ian Napa outscored Power in their 1st fight, but seem to recall Power being a bit arrogant telling Napa he hadn't won that fight in front of the Sky cameras.

I'm struggling to see that much difference other than Sexton's getting a harder time.

Paris = fraud. How the fornicate can you get away with that? I feel sorry for Bayaar. Sexton went down in my estimation giving it the big man I won shite at the end. You know when your beat!

Is this why a few of our fighters fail on the big stage? Favourable judges decisions keeping the "streak" going and making them look invincible?

I had it 114-114, so thought John-Lewis was spot on, but Foster and the notorius Parris should have gone to Specsavers  . The sky team have managed, yet again, to turn another close one into another controversy :shame:

Bayaar keeps his belt, but as long as Sexton starts maturing he'll come back better for this. I thought Sexton could win this one, but certainly think he'll win a rematch if it hapepens. Bayaar appeared to be lacking when Sexton put the heat on him, and despite lacking class in the post fight interview (he is 22 afterall) Ashley was absolutely right when he said he got butted early on and just got on with it whereas Shinny cried foul.

I'm hoping Maloney is true to his word and makes the rematch when Bayaar's cut heals.
Sorry Butch, disagree! I watched it again on Sky Plus today with no sound. While I agree it was close, it wasn't a draw or a Sexton win, it was a clear, close Bayaar win if you know what I mean. Foster's card is the only one that reads right in my opinion. I had it 116-114 last night and 116-113 when I watched it again today. The only good thing was that Shinny didn't lose his belt. When you say putting the heat on, do you mean Sexton going head first into Bayaars head? Using his age as an excuse for a complete lack of respect and sportsmanship is bollix, he is 22, not 12.
I had it 7-2 in favor of Shinny after 9 rounds,1 of the rounds that i gave to Ashley could have been a 10-10 round. Then Ashley started to use rough house tactics & won the last 3,these tactics IMO would have been dealt with If Ashley wasn't the Home fighter.

I had it 115 - 113 in favor of Shinny. How Dave Parris gave Ashley 4 rounds out of the 1st 5 !!!

I had it 8-4 to Shinny.. imo you didnt do much at all for the 1st 8 rounds. Normally your a very fast starter and thought you'd win to 1st half of the fight then it would be become interesting, i thought you'd blow out late on. I couldnt of got it more wrong it was the other way round.. If you box the way you Spar there aint many to beat you, Sparring at around 9 + stone do you think making Fly is to hard and taken alot out of you?,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxDLkn2P2ps
Have a look. Dont think he's to far of.. The head butt bit's i would'nt agree with as its a boxing match and when two fighter's are going for it this happens.

Next fight you'l have to show him No respect and rough him up from the start...

All the Talk before saying your going to knock him out at Shinny's last fight interview, and other's where you said the fight is only going to be good coz "im in it" didnt do you any favours and back Fire's when it dont happen..

Fair play for coming on and giving your side Ashley. I will give you the benefit of the doubt. If I am honest, I think the judging of Dave Paris left a sour taste in my/our mouth, and your taking the flak for it. You went in, done your job, dug deep, got lucky on this occasion in the majority opinion. You will learn a lot from this, and I personally will be back on your side for the rematch.

Ashley, looking back again, do you think you were beat?

I don't mind bad mouthing before a fight such as what Sexton was saying about Shinny, it adds spice to a matchup and oit's all about selling a fight. But if that disrespect comes afterwards as well then people doi start thinking you are just a plain disrespectful person, instead of trying to create some hype and sell a fight.

Shinny won that fight by 3-4 rounds for me, he just used his experience for the first 8 rounds and it was only once he got cut and got proper pressured did he start to fall apart. This does leave a lot of questions for a rematch, though in reality Sexton should have an L on his record now.

Fair play for coming on Ashley and telling us how you thought it went. It won't change who I thought won the fight but it makes up for the post fight interview so well done. Very best of luck in the rematch. :TU:

Absoulote joke score card by Dave Parris, were did he get that from? Bayaar started very well boxing brilliantly and Sexton couldnt get going, then the cut really troubled him and Sexton came on well late. But i still had Bayaar 115-113 ahead a draw would be fair if 2 judges had it 114-114 but to have it 116-112 :o

Fair play mate, coming on here and saying that. It must be very difficult when you've just finished a fight where you're not pleased with the performance - and someone whacks a mike in your face.

I can't agree with your assessment, but then I've got the benefit of TV angles, and not being emotionally involved in the contest.

Nobody wants to accept that they have lost, or drawn or whatever. I'm sure it's hard, I think as the previous poster said, you will have gone right up in everyone's estmation for coming on here, and saying what you've said.

Good luck for the future.

fair play to sexton for coming on here and giving his side.

I would have much more respect for him if he came on and admitted he lost though. Unfortunately he can't. I remember Richie Woodhall sitting on the apron after one of his fights where he won on points I think and then saying to the interviewer, "I thought i lost. I think he nicked that". I was young but still remember that and have been a fan of Woodhall ever since.

I'll look forward to the rematch and maybe Sexton can win for real next time. I hope so
