Re: Who beats Tyson in his Prime (before Cus Death)

I didn't read all the replies but here is my take.
Mike Tyson was an unstoppable force when he had Kevin Rooney training him. Even after Cus died. Once he left Jim Jacobs and Kevin Rooney he lost his skills quickly. He was still fast and powerful but no head movement. He also openly admitted on several occasions he never trained for Douglas. It was reported he weighed 258 lbs 3 weeks out from the fight. If you look at his physique in that fight it was flat. He pretty much barely sparred after 1989. He didn't care about Boxing. He had a pretty successful career for a guy who let his skills erode by 24 years old. He was still powerful and confident. That is what got him by Ruddock twice. After prison he was way worse. Being out of it for so long eroded his skills even more. He was a shell of his former self.
If he trained at all he would have destroyed Douglas. He put Douglas on his butt and had a good fight while not even training. Holyfield would still be tough. Lewis would have got beaten because a well trained Tyson was a killer against the big guys. He also admitted that he trained less for Lewis then any other fight. He didn't want to fight anymore. We won't talk about his last two defeats.
I think Foreman gives him fits. Also Ali.
