Is it too much to ask for a bit of decorum and dignity on here? I find it horrific, but watchable. Like a car-crash.

I like what Curtis has done, switching to boxing when he had it made as a footballer, can only respect him. I do rate Gavin a hell of a lot though and think it'll be very one sided.

Yeah, these two may actually fight at some point so it would be better for Curtis to come out and say, 'I don't think I'd land a punch, either. I actually love the kid like a little brother and we spent the whole of last Sunday afternoon reading George Orwell essays together. That would get everyone hyped. We'd be psyched. Imagine the pre-fight presser. Both men, hyped up and furiously knitting matching bobby hats before a stoked up press section.

Right, so if the fight does get made and they are releasing quotes on it Woodhouse should point out that he doesn't think he can win, doesn't think he will and a shot, and is also certain that he himself will get knocked out early despite the fact that he hasn't been knocked out thus far in his career.

Yeah, that will get the blood pumping ahead of the fight. Thank you for that lesson in how to hype/sell a contest. I feel suitably chastised and am currently spanking myself with great vim and vigour.

Good history lesson for me an' all as no world class prospect has ever lost in an upset to an average fighter...since Khan-Prescott.

yeh coz woodhouse is in the same bracket as prescott,

he hasnt faced any1 and doesnt have any 1 single attribute that is above average.
when khan fought prescott. prescott had an amazing k.o record and had wiped the floor with all his previous opponents. he had k.od every 1 of his opponents bar 3 of the 19, if im correct.
where as woodhouse has never fought any1 of note with the exception of stefy bull who is an average fighter and he made hard work of it and didnt look good 1 bit.

i have nothing against woodhouse the fact he has made the transformation from football is a great achievement, but lets not kid our selves here there is a big difference fighting journey men and scraping through them than fighting a world class prospect who is leagues above him.

you keep saying do i expect curtis to come out saying this and that about how he is not good enough, and it wouldnt make very good sense in promoting a fight, im not a promoter and i dont think you are. woodhouse can think what he wants but the fact is every1 who knows anything about boxing knows he doesnt stand a chance so he shouldnt chat bubbles about how frankie couldnt k.o him and he fancies his chances.

lets see what happens when they meet.

I can say with complete and total honesty that a combination of Orwell, knitting and self-deprecation in the pre-fight nonsense would make me more of a fan of any fighter.

where did i once say that woodhouse should say im going to get beat and so on.

they are leagues and leagues apart.

the khan prescott example was awful.

this is nothing like that example, prescott was unbeaten and a k.o machine.

woodhouse has been beat by a complete journey man and has never looked anything above average in any of his fights.
he also doesnt have 1 attribute that is even half of frankies.

prescott always had a punchers chance and was an unbeaten fighter and had a devastating ko record.

i know upsets happen but there is no chance in this fight, as iv said there is not 1 attribute woodhouse has over frankie. its not even like he has a punchers chance coz he cant punch. so like i say very bad example.

theres an old saying people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.

woodhouse may believe in his head hes going to win and fair play to him he shouldnt fight if he thinks other wise, but calling frankie out after his last fight saying he will ko him then saying who has frankie ever kod well its laughable.
woodhouse is an average fighter and when/if they do meet it will end in a very bad way for curtis, he will get made to look an absolute fool and will get stopped in good style.

i cant see him taking many rounds if any off gavin, but he may hang in there & pull the cat out the bag late on, ive seen bigger upset's ive never seen gavin tough it out( not saying he cant) but that's boxing for you.

as for steps backward's this fight would naturally draw plenty of media intrest & pressure which woodhouse is used to as a sportsman.

McDonagh came to win, tried a getting a bit rough and it was answered in kind. To be honest, I think the woodhouse fight plays out the same way...

it is obvious that Gavin has far better skills and pedigree than Curtis; the only way it makes sense to put the bout on is if there is 'bad blood' or needle between the 2. They may not like each other genuinely but after his last fight I thought Curtis was a bit tongue in cheek (with Frankie) and said that all the disrespectful stuff before the Bull fight was to make a bit more interest. To be honest; the lads on here looking forward to Woodhouse getting a one sided hiding piss me off. Do you not think that Curtis knows who he is going to face? Don't you think that shows some real balls? Frankie Gavin has been getting better and better and those who are saying he can't punch are comparing him to Julian Jackson. I hope for an entertaining bout with aggression and counter punching, desire and class; and get a decent pay day. With the right foil Gavin would look brilliant and against the right man Woodhouse can show that he is not a novelty boxer. Both men can come out of this well and if they're enjoying the smack talk; all the better.
