Look, he bossed Kotelnik, but just because he bossed him, doesn't make Kotelnik bad. Malignaggi had looked a transformed fighter since leaving McGirt, and had done very well against Juan Diaz, who, if we remember, was giving Marquez all kinds of problems before the great Mexican turned things around. Again, Malignaggi was a career 140 lb-er.

And Khan bossed both these fights in a way that no other boxer has done to these men.

Has he got a suspect chin? Yes, and I think that his time at the Wild Card has proven that, as there have been some murmurs emerge that say he's been knocked over or put on queer street a few times in sparring.

Might Maidana knock his block off? Yes.

But none of that changed that Khan is clearly a world class operator in a division packed with exciting, emerging talent. And given the crushing nature of his defeat against Prescott, we should be impressed that he was bold enough to recognise that things weren't going right, and move to a new country in search of something to get him on the right track. And his post-Prescott rebuilding process is pretty unimpeachable, and certainly will be if he fights and beats Maidana.

I agree, although I do think Hatton did an equally dominating job against Malignaggi.

You haters just make your own stuff up to hate about, Khan fought salita (his maditory) in december 2009, its september 2010 - so how has he ducked his manditory for 2 years? He hasnt even been a light welterweight for more than a year and a couple of months so even if he ducked maidana as soon as he stepped up - he wouldnt have been ducking him for 2 years.

If that's what you really thought then kudos to you, but let me assure you, you were in the minority. Even the bookies had it pretty close. Kotenik was a strong champion, who had beaten an impressive mandatory, who had never lost a big fight decisively. It was an amazing win for Amir.

To be fair he was considered the weekest belt holder, considering bradley was called unbeatable. But he wasnt considered a paper champion he was a solid boxer with a good track record..

Ridiculous, mate. You said Khan is a "better version" of Kotelnik, so that makes the silver medal comparison absolutely obsolete. Both being very good technically? Could you be any vaguer? Kotelnik is an economic counter-puncher who is durable and holds up a very high guard. Khan is a fast, aggressive fighter with good power and a shocking chin, who incidentally has the power, precision and technique to become a lethal finisher.
