Murray looked average tonight. Maybe it was just an off night but ge looked really one dimensional (which to be fair he always has) he lacked a plan B. His defence was shabby and offensively he looked sloppy not setting things off tge jab like ge does at his best. Someone like Diaz or Escobedo would be perfect for John Murray next.

Juan, Julio or David? If its the first one then I would favour Juan comfortably. JMM is still in pretty good form.

I was meaning Juan but now you mention it David Diaz could be a good matchup for him

i disagree. hamidi can make anyone look bad including burns who won a world title in his next fight or so and beat crolla, the current class act of british boxing.

see a pattern?

vs hamidi, murray looks bad AFTER FEWKES HAS PULLED OUT

vs el quazghari, murray below par, AFTER MITCHELL HAS TURNED IT DOWN

Ye it was quite exciting but quite sloppy at times, the only reason it was exciting was because Murray was so poor!

That was the worse I have seen Murray since the Al Hamidi performance.

I'd always favoured him over Mitchell, but based on that showing, I'd now pick Mitchell to box circles around him and stop him. Of course, Murray can box way better and this could have been an off night, but he just looked like a tough, strong brawler.

He will have to be back on form next time if they intend to get serious with the opposition.

I really like his all action style but he's got to forget about being an all out inside pressure fighter; at real World level, (not manipulated up the ratings 'magically') he will get broken down. He is not a very young man anymore and really should have a bit more guile; (he's not that keen on a hard body shot himself either). On the other weeks performance Kevin Mitchell would box him and win without any doubt. If John were to box Katsidis or Marquez he would get mullered.
