Audley wasn`t the only gun shy guy in the early rounds. Haye was just as reluctant to let his hands go

It sounds like you're the easily pleased one, at least haye destroys sub par opposition - the klits go 10 rounds with them without putting them on their arses until they're on their last legs.

Lets not start blowing smoke up the klits arses they havent fought and beaten anyone we would consider great. All their opposition bar lewis would be considered sub par and even some of them have beaten wlad.

Valuev was a dull one, Ruiz wasn't exactly Hagler vs Hearns and Harrison and Maccarinelli were both dull untill one punch changed the fight.

Try 5 Knockdowns in his last four fights. 1 vs Harrison, 1 vs Maccarinelli and 3 vs Ruiz.

They werent even his last four fights! Replace macca with barrett.

And ruiz was down 4 times - twice in the first round.

Fair point, I stand correct on both.

Although I do maintain that Haye has been in more than one dull one. What about his fights with Abdoul and Johansen at Cruiser - the Abdoul fight especially was a stinker, a real Klitchsko esque performance - didn't know how to find away around a defensively minded fighter.

Not a title fight, for the length of time it lasted it was quite good. Golota floored in the first and seemed to be back in it. Looked like he had the beatings of Mike and then quit. A very bizarre fight and ending.

No you fail - haye wasnt a world champion and was fighting for a world title against a man 8 stone heavier and the world ranked number 3 who had never been stopped before - that was still a competative fight, punches were thrown, it was boring but not an embarrassment. - wlad was the world number 1 and fighting an old shot has been who didnt even land a punch and still took 7 rounds to stop him on his feet without dropping him once. It was not only extremely boring but showed that the world number 1 couldnt destroy a no longer world class fighter in Rahman even without any return fire. It was a discrace to the sport of boxing.

Lennox lewis had absolutely destroyed a prime Rahman in 4 rounds 7 years earlier.

I have not been entertained by the HW iteration of Haye. Bonin and Harrison were completely overmatched and both went down without putting up a fight; Ruiz tried but he was never competitive, and there was few if any good two way exchanges; and I don't need to explain why Vauev-Haye sucked. Haye is simply a different fighter at the new weight.

If your other statement was rubbish, this one is utterly idiotic. The abdoul fight was an utter disgrace and your statement proves you can't have watched it. What added insult to injury was the post-fight interview where Haye and Booth basically said they just wanted to see if Haye could do the 12 rounds so focused on that - he barely threw anything other than a jab for the entire fight and treated it like a slow-paced sparring session, which was hugely insulting to paying fans who'd come to see action. As I've said, it's definitely up there with the Malinga-Reid fight as the worst fight I've ever seen, so back in your box son.
And to give my statement some much-needed context, just a cursory search on here of my posts relating to Haye will prove to you that I've actually been a fan to date and have sung his praises on numerous occasions, so don't imply that I'm a 'hater' just because I'm not some dreamy-eyed fan-boy who isn't prepared to acknowledge Haye's failings as well as the strengths.

Haye was on 5live this morning talking about the fight. He was very complimentary about Wlad, talked about how excited he was about the fight and what it would mean to him when he wins. He was also directly asked about his retirement and said there is a strong possibility that he won't retire in October

It may have been pretty dull, but it had intrigue and was tense because of the size difference. It was David v Goliath.
