Indeed. Cleverly appears confident he can beat Bellew in Liverpool... It sounds ot me like Bellw has got him riled up.

So here with have it then. Finally it's on.
Shit I'm excited!
I'll be dreaming of a Bomber win all the way up until fight night, I can see it now, arms aloft.
It's by no means going to be easy though. Clev has to be favourite in this fight. Tony has the punchers chance and providing he feels strong at the weight (is durable) I feel he can give Clev all kinds of problems.
I can envisage Clev getting his shit together though and boxing superbly off the back foot. We've not seen it yet but we all know the lad has the potential. Hopefully come fight night he wants to defend with his face though.
WAR BOMBER

if..and its a big if. Clev thinks he can hold bombers bit shots while teeing his own off then clev is in trouble. bellew bangs much harder,
expect clev to box his way to a victory, or try to.
come on bomber!!

Just looked at the latest wbo lt heavy ratings. Bellew is at number 15. Does this merit a “world” title shot? Does beating Awful Mackenzie merit a world title shot? Not knocking bellew cos he seems a top fella but if he was with a less, lets say persuasive, promoter would he get this chance? IMO he is gonna get badly stopped, and early.

stop whinging...it's a fight most boxing fans want to see...
and i see bellew stopping clev early on.
i don't think nathans got the armoury to worry bomber...tho i'll gladly eat my words should i be proven wrong.

This has the makings of an instant classic. Cleverly has the boxing skills, and is a spiteful puncher, Bomber is gutsy and can really bang.
Will cleverly box cleverly - excuse awful pun, or get drawn into a war of attrition.
I can envisgate this turning into a real tear up, as Cleverly gets drawn into a machismo contest. Which will favour Bellew.
Think Cleverly hits hard enough to get Bellew out of there too, so even in a shootout, could go either way.

i love a good whinge son! and in a similar fashion I will gladly eat my words if i am proven wrong too.
most boxing fans do wanna see it buit i would have preferred bellow fight and win the euro title before he got a shot at the world title, it devalues it IMO

Liverpool makes sense, sort of, as FW will be feeling Clev will win this, even in Tony's backyard - but he'll be sure of a big crowd and big atmosphere there - hometown hero TB will pull the crowds, and Clev's fans will travel to see him defend his world title.
And if TB lands the bomb, then it's a massive win in front of his home fans. Big night.

I'm quite neutral in this, i like them both. All I know is when I was watching Cleverly vs Kuziemski, I was thinking Bellew would beat him. Just with how he holds his chin there, I get the feeling that doing that with a puncher like Tony will get him knocked down rapidly. That will knock his pride (I think even a big shot alone will bring down the red mist) and he will stand and trade, which can't end well surely? Or maybe I just don't have a clue

I just don't get this.
Clev (or his Promoter) was criticised for a pretty straight forward defence first up against Kuziemski, even though it was very last minute. Now a guy who barely scraped past a sub UK level Ovill McKenzie in his last but one fight, is being set up as a credible world title challenger in a supposedly must-see domestic clash. This is as bogus a world title fight as Burns v Cook was. Cleverly should be looking to prove himself against a genuine top 10 world ranked opponent and not trundling back down to UK level. Bellew may have the ability to deserve a world title shot at some stage in the future, but on the back of his last 2 performances? Really? Can someone please tell me what I've missed?

your right mate, if its a tear up it might be fun to watch but it is a bogus world title fight. its a fwazza inside job, like an arum inside job but on a poor mans scale.

Maybe bellew doesn't deserve to have a world title shot but cleverly hasn't earned the title him self. I mean come On what's he done to b world champ????? Fought a guy on 10 hours notice. Wow he deserves his belt for that. So if bellew doesn't deserve his shot, then cleverly doesn't deserve his title. Coz let's be honest it's not like bellews getting a shot at some1 like Hopkins, or cloud, or a genuine world class fighter. Cleverly altho he can only beat what's put infrint of him, he is still a paper champion and every1 in there hearts knows that.
This is an amazing grudge match what every1 wants to see. And a chance to see if cleverly is as good as some people think. IMO bellew will ko him, but no matter what the outcome of the fight I can guarantee this will be cleverlys toughest test of his career

While it was disappointing that Clev was awarded the title outside of the ring, he fully deserved his world title shot (unlike Bellew), and because of his performances
inside the ring he is now considered a top 10 LHW by virtually everyone. All champions---whether they "deserve" their title or not----should be defending against meritorious challengers; if this doesn't happen then the signifcance of world title bouts will continue eroding, and this is inimical to the well-being of boxing. For this reason, the people who think that it's acceptable for any major world title holder to defend against someone who is going life and death at domestic level are no better than the people who think that it's ok for a champ to be crowned in dubious circumstances.
This is an amazing grudge match what every1 wants to see. And a chance to see if cleverly is as good as some people think. IMO bellew will ko him, but no matter what the outcome of the fight I can guarantee this will be cleverlys toughest test of his career
There is nothing amazing about this fight and clearly not everyone wants to see it. Bellew couldn't even KO Ajisafe or McKenzie the second time around, so I don't see him stopping a fighter who is their vast superior and has a good chin.

You talk about bellews last 2 fights but what about clevs last 2???? He scraped through by 2 points against a fighter on 2 days notice and he was lucky to win coz if that was in the other guys country and on his show he would have walked away with the win, and then in his next fight he gets rocked to his boots by some1 who took the fight on 10 hours notice. Hardly the sign of a good fighter. So next time you write something, have a little think about what u say first, otherwise you might sound a bit two faced.

Clev didn't look great in either of his last two fights, but he was clearly getting the better of Kuziemski prior to the stoppage, and most people thought he justifiably edged Mohammedi. Kuziemski is a fringe-contender at the world level and a solid European level fighter, while Mohammedi can be safely classified as a European level fighter. Both Kuziemski and Mohammedi are better than Bellew, and both are exponentially better than domestic operators Ajisafe and McKenzie. If we go back three fights, Cleverly dominated and stopped the world ranked Karo Murat, while Bellew was dropped heavily on two occasions by McKenzie.

bellew might not have done anything to deserve a title shot but neither did ricky burns and a bunch of other fighters before him, but it has all the makings of a good fight if bellew is to be believed allthough talking big and fighting small is a worrying trend these days, and i dont think ther's much between them but i'd give clev the edge, neither is that special. but i like the look of it and they clearly hate each other, just hope it's a good fight.since it's prob gonna cost me another 15 notes.

I like Bomber, but jeez, come on. McIntosh was a more interesting fight than this will be. Bellew will be stopped. Not in the same league. Clev is awesome, Bomber may struggle to go past British level. McKenzie was 18/10 - people forget about that.

yeah They should have pursued McIntosh again for Tony he's got more experience but can be erratic and vulnerable. I know Danny had apparently not been interested in the fight in the past but Tony's last two performances might have give him a bit more confidence
