Well they need to register a complaint with the board, I'm not sure why Eddie Hearn is getting involved apart from just seizing the opportunity to have a dig.

If you were owed 50K and the bloke that owed it you said "look, I'm a bit short at the moment and can't pay you, but money will hopefully start rolling in over the next couple of months and I'll try to settle up then". Do you go running off to the Board making complaints or do you sit tight? It's easy for us to pass comment, we're not owed the cash.

Boxingchat actually made a comment on a similar thread a short while ago along the lines of "would you prefer £10k straight away or £50k down the line?" Is this a pervasive attitude among promoters - robbing peter today to pay paul a higher purse tomorrow?

I still can't see the scandal.. As in all walks of life it's up to the individual to decide when to complain to an offical body and when to sit tight. There's people all over in different sports and industry's who aren't being paid on time in the current climate

If this were an industry problem, then many of he comments here would be valid.
However the perception seems to be that this is not an industry problem.
If the majority are compliant why can't they all be ?

Just something I stumbled upon within the Insolvency News

Frank ****** Promotions Limited agreed to pay HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for an undisclosed sum after the tax office proposed winding up the business on 28 November 2011.
It is the second time this year that HMRC has issued a winding up petition against the internationally renowned promoter.
However, Insolvency News has today learnt that an official appeal has been lodged to be examined by the Courts and Tribunals Service.
In a statement issued exclusively to Insolvency News, the company stated that this had absolutely nothing to do with Frank ****** personally:
"Payment has been made to HMRC but there is an outstanding issue that HMRC are no longer involved with.
"A formal application has been made to the First Tier Tribunal (tax) which is part of Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service to hear the case.
"There are certainly no concerns with the stability of the business. We expect the petition to be dismissed later this week”

Interesting thread. To go off at a tangent, how long do people think this will last, then ?

I keep doing the math in my head - multiplying the subscription rate by a guessed number of subscribers, times so many months.... if the people behind the channel don't have seriously deep pockets AND a commitment to see through big early losses, this venture may not be around to celebrate its first birthday. This is pure speculation on my part. I would imagine the backers would have gone into this with their eyes open and an acceptance of rock all profit in the first year, if they didn't get a lot of subscribers when they launched, it is going to be painfully hard to drive up the customer base now. For those customers who have signed up, the backers can relax, because - in fairness - by the time the subscription is up for renewal fans will have probably been spoiled rotten with quantity (and hopefully, quality). But the challenge of drawing new subscribers will be a tough one. It was absolutely crazy, in this online world we live in, not to have had the option of signing up customers who could watch the shows live, online. You should open up your potential customer base to everyone with a PC, not just those who have Sky or Virgin. There are millions of people in that category in this country alone. Even Ricky Hatton's website has its own video player facility - not that I'm knocking Hatton's promotional set up, but my point is, if he can do it, why can't the new home of boxing ?

I agree, it's all been a bit amateurish from the get go, and i doubt it will see through 2012..
