Amir Khan is a lovely lad. I just can't understand all the abuse he gets.

Because apparently hyping yourself up, and trying to aim or the big title fights constitutes as arrogant.

He should be like the domestic boxers here in Britain fighting for 5% of what he gets for the English title. /Sarcasm

Amir Khan may not be the sharpest tool in the box, but these people who call him arrogant want to look at the likes of Mayweather, Brandon Rios, Magarito or even Haye to and extent etc.

These guys have done everything from burnt money at parties, humiliate their own father because their so "badass", made fun of people with Parkinson's, allegedly teaching through potentially lethal extents and insult boxers and their families.

But yeah, Fck Khan, who does he think he is for wanting superfights. Pr1ck!

I think it's an issue of his mouth writing cheques that his skills can't cash. He's slagged off Froch (the current darling of British) and the fans (the "If I was white"), as well as his comments about DC and in ability to give Peterson credit... as well as coming across...poorly on twitter (interaction with fans).

He's talented and all boxing fans will acknowledge that but he lets himself down.

People should perhaps take Amir's lack of intelligence into consideration when judging his written and spoken comments. That's what I do. I find him quite endearing, if I'm honest.

i liked his commentary on Marquez - Pacquiao a lot.

Be fair, Floyd (and Haye) do get a lot of hate for it whilst Margarito has just suffered 3 beatings in his last 4 fights so is easily dismissed as being as not being as good as his promoter hypes him to be. Rather than accepting he got beat by Peterson Khan was happy to blame anyone and everyone for his loss-The judges, the referee, Peterson's style, heck even the state of DC got given some blame rather than "I'll come back stronger" it was more "I was fighting 2 men, no wonder no big fights take place in DC, what were the judges watching".

As I said he alienates fans, he's like marmite much like Floyd is (who lets be honest backs up much of what he says). No one is excusing the others, but Margo, Floyd and Rios all play the bad guy, the guy we want to see beaten...Khan seems to want to play the good guy but acts like the bad guy. If he wants the super fights my feeling (personally) is that he needs to earn them (same applies for Guerrero, Bradley and Berto etc) part of that is by beating top contenders IN the same division as the two guys he wants to fight.

But again, it's a bit of a marmite thing.

Khan's PR is crap, I mean really bad, the more i see of it, the more i dislike it. It is amateurish and makes me not want to watch him fight. He needs to get his dreary family out of the way, as soon as possible.

Goldenboy need to take more of a hands on approach to his media.



However in the ring, he has been the highlight of the last couple of years.

humble or not, he seems to have a genuine rivalry brewing with peterson following an exciting and controversial fight. and rivalries, fierce ones, often make the fighter. he doesn't come across well in interviews, and i'm not keen on the amateur style involving running many miles and pumping his arms out amateur style rather than digging into shots - but he'll make more money, has a chance to re-develop his style & if things work out he can look for the super fights if they are still out there. because of his olympic pedigree, he doesn't have to be humble - he can get outpointed or blown away, and he will still be able to jump the queue to fairly big fights. if we don't like him so much, then i doubt we will see much change re the personality of this privileged but talented fighter.
