I think Tony said himself he won six rounds, so that's not a loss, but it's not a win either. Draw seems fair to me but you could argue a case for Cleverly finishing stronger and keeping the title.

It wasn't the out and out robbery some made it out to be.

Non taken pal, that's what forums are about and I agree slightly with you, I have seen it over 10 times I refuse to watch it again and I just feel giving him the close rounds I still won 6, I feel some of the close ones could have gone my way but I gave him them as champion as people do although I personally don't agree with it bit Eh that's life,

I'll continue to look for better fights that Karpency to be honest, I wouldn't be happy with him if I got the decision and I'd let that be known,I believe McIntosh is possibly better than Karpency I know I am, maybe thats why I'm sitting here in this position though? I'm too honest at times..

I've just gotta keep improving which I feel I'm doing at a good rate now, I believe I'll get to where I want to get in the end.. Thanks too people for ya support as usual ;-)

i think consensus puts it a bit too strongly mate

i wouldn't be aggrieved by scorecards 7-5 either way or 6-6. i think i just had clev nicking it but there was definitely at least 1 swing round in there. :TU:
Totally agree! I think the actual consensus immediately after the fight was that it was incredibly close and that the result could have gone either way!

Forget about Cleverly and forge your own path. The last thing you want is to end up like Junior Witter did i.e. for years, every time somebody gave him the opportunity to speak in public, the first thing he'd do was mention Ricky Hatton.
Ditto.

Get after McIntosh and Gutknecht or Murat. Beating those guys will boost your ranking and make it impossible for Clev to ignore your claims further down the line. Should be worth more £££ to all concerned if you have both increased your profile in the meantime.

I fully agree, I don't need him to make my name, I'll get what I want out of it with or without him, I just want big fights and he's the biggest fight for me in UK, I'd happily go to the US to fight or happily go to Germany to fight Gutchnekt for the European title,I'll really travel anywhere although I feel I could shift am awful lot of tickets in Liverpool, I just wanna keep progressing, I don't see the point in fighting at a high level then dropping back down 4 levels.. Boxing is a horrible and sh*ty sport at times!

Thanks though ;-)

Tony you've been proper shafted just like boxing fans, the rematch with Cleverley should have been yours on Feb 25th.

I've been involved in negotiating with quite a few boxing managers and promoters and they're real sneaky feckers...you'll make them good offers in faith and they'll turn it down because they don't want their fighter in a dangerous fight and then they'll twist the facts and make it that you were the ones who didn't want the fight and just match their man with some scrub instead.

Tommy Karpency is not ranked in the WBO's top 15. It'll be interesting to see when the WBO update their rankings to see if Tommy Karpency magically appears in their top 15 when the rankings are updated in January.

As others have said. Boxrec have him in at the #83 light heavyweight. Not a good match up this. Nathan left many questions after his fight with Tony.

At least Enzo had the power that enabled us to all win a shitload of money out of it.

Unfortunately for allegedly, this fight will not add one single casual fan to their subscribers and at worst, will cause a few people to cancel. If FW hasn't got the money to bring in fighters that can stir the publics imagination then how long to we think it'll be before he's back to Sky with his tail between his legs?

It's just the worst time to be trying to make a success of a channel like this, people have less money and British boxing has no superstars, especially in Frank's stable. You would need Khan and Haye to be at the height of their popularity and both fighting on the channel for it to stand a chance.

Bunce makes a couple of good points but his underlining point is that it's harder to pull the wool over peoples eyes these days which has got to be a good thing. Sure you are going to have those who are given a platform to moan about absolutely everything from robberies to make making to refereeing, but non of that has stopped Hatton, Calzaghe and Haye from being big crossover stars in the modern era. Cleverly cannot build up the fanbase that these guys did whilst boxing unknown guys on a boxing only channel for £10 a month that very few people subscribe to

The best post on the thread is by box3r86 and you have to commend Bunce for the way he changed the subject after it

This is classic Warren cr@p. I don't think Tony Bellew deserved his shot against Cleverly, but he put in a phenominal performance :TU: and took Nathan to the wire. It could have gone either way IMO. I'd now much rather see Bellew get another crack than this sh1t :shame:

This has all the hallmarks of Joe Calzaghe, Scott Harrison etc THUMBS DOWN !

To think I was in the brink of cancelling SkySports and get allegedly instead...no chance now :witzend:

This from Fwank

http://www.boxingfutures.com/news/0105- ... ig-cardiff

So you had to get an unknown in because you didn't want to make too much money or sell too many tickets??? Only one arena in Cardiff? Really? I'm sure you did one of your biggest ever fights at an arena in cardiff? Or maybe you don't want to go back there - bad memories and all that?

And a significant shareholder in a UK TV channel is being dictated to on who a British world champion fights in a fight held in Britain by a small US premium channel? Bodes well.

Don't know if they be welcome at Milenium again.

The small US channel which would have peanuts for it just like we do for Saureland fights. Surely they could got one of the 18 ranked Americans above him according to Boxrec rankings!

All Bunce had to say on ESB was something like this:

'Lads it's a shit fight and i'm not going to pretend it's anything else but Box notion is still in it's infancy and we'll try harder to make the fights boxing fans want in the future'

instead he's totally patronizing about boxing being a business blah blah blah...well most of us here probably run our own businesses in some capacity so we don't need to be lectured about how to run a business.

Times and economics have changed and people want value for money fights not laying down hard earned money to see someone fight a gimme. People may have turned up in the 90's and 2000's to see the likes of Eubank, Hamed and Calzaghe fight scrubs but they had extra money to spend then but nowadays we want to know we're getting more bang for our bucks.

It's funny that Bunce ripped on Kellerman but at least Max would have called this fight a turd live on HBO wheras Bunce will try and justify it.

Its an open air venue for a start which would pose all kind of problems if there were any fights prior to the summer..... British weather (Welsh in particular) is terrible. :(

Plus it holds 27000, and I don't care how big a ticket seller bellew is, he ain't gonna bring 20000 scousers down

Am I the only one who thought Bellew was a cock - and I mean a proper cock, but who is now one of my favourite domestic fighters?

I also think think Tony could beat Clev in a rematch.

His jab is pure sex.
