I don't know mate - Mr W_rren made Bellew do it the hard way.

First he had to beat the dangerous Atoli Moore, then he faced the big punching stylist bob Ajisafe.

Follow that with a couple of wins (helped by some favourable refereeing) against the world ranked Ovil Mckenzie then surely nobody could begrudge him a World title shot ?

Then after being beaten fair and square, he should have been given an immediate rematch - indeed, he should have been given as many rematches it required until he actually won.

Some promoters can be so unreasonable.
Brilliant :)

No matter what you say warren delivered a British, Commonwealth and World title shot for a limited fighter like Bellew and was busy arranging a European shot before Tony started mouthing off.

Late payments aside which happen in all walks of life i think anyone would say Warren did a great job for Bellew.

Eddie 'Munster' Hearns is a cherry picking carpet bagger who is nothing without the sky contract behind him, it's easy to steal someone and make them a star based on someone elses hard work but lets see him build someone up from scratch before we start praising him because thats what Warren has done many many times before and will do again in the future.

I completely agree with you on your Bellew points. Although I wouldn't have gone so strong on Eddie Hearn. But when you think about name a fighter he has promoted from the beginning and brought through himself.

I'd be willing to bet you'd be a lot less relaxed about late payments if you were the party left unpaid.

for the record, late payments make me seethe. businesses go under, mortgages get defaulted on.

In terms of fights delivered FW has done a good job. No idea of course what he was paid, were payments late or fights for the future.

To be fair to him I would say he has a relatively young stable and so maybe in a couple of years will be the time to judge him on how he is at bringing fighters through in my opinion.

Boxers should be the first to get paid. They're the ones taking the real risks.

Exactly but I am sorry to say, this is not always the way! :-( I'll bet my arse the people who pay fighters have never had a late mortgage payment have they? I bet they weren't worrying how they were going to sort Christmas! Well this is what happens in the pro game! It's not all glitter and gold let me tell you that much! My problem is I'm too trusting and I've had to Learn the hard way! Now I trust my own and by my own I mean them closest to me!
