top dog in two weight divisions???? so beating an old hopkins and jones means your the best at light heavy does it??? fair point on the super middles but no way light heavy,if he would of fought dawson and tarvor and came out on top then i would agree, for the record i thought froch fought kessler at kessler game and forced him back in a really tight fight were as calzaghe fought kessler and run for most of the fight after a few hurtful body shots, just my opinion tho :TU:
hopkins was top dog at the time they fought each other.

simple as really. :OhYes:

Hopkins is one of most tactically astute fighters of all time and he's dirty, a quality I like in a fighter.

Really? Tarver had just beaten Glen Johnson and Roy Jones Jr for the second time when he fought Hopkins wasn't really anyone else at 175 who stood out as number 1.

Hopkins had retired after the Tarver fight and hadn't fought in a year - there was a very legitmate case for saying Dawson was number 1 at the time of Hopkins vs Calzaghe.

Certainly a case to say Hopkins was no longer undisputedly the man.

I like to see a bit of know how and rough stuff but Hopkins moans a bit too much for me. Hit em low but don't cry when you get it seems a good way of doing it.
