Great post :TU:
Did either of you bother reading my explanation, above? Or was it that you read it, and didn't understand it?

And I say that as someone who thinks the results should be up.
So is it not your call then Ian? Even though your editor I mean? Im assuming the owner/owners dont want it up then.

I'm only Editor of the UK news site mate. BoxRec is bloody huge. I'm not a records editor, of which there are loads doing an incredible job. It's their collective job to decide what's what.

I do think they should be up but, as I've explained earlier in the thread, there is another side to it. The EBU affiliation is the key for me.

It certainly looks that way for now.

I can understand a template and rules for what is reported and what is not reported on Boxrec is required, but I also think there is a time for common sense and this might just be one of those moments.

Everyone that watched the show and that watches it in years to come will see the professional boxers, the TV crews, the 30,000 fans, the WBA/WBO belts etc and will probably struggle to understand how it wasn't accurately recorded on Boxrec. It will pose more questions then, than it does now.

The simple fact is that since lux box suspension from the ebu it is at this moment in time just another unlicenced show whether things change in time I have no idea

Just in case anyone is interested in what the undercard results were a mate just phoned
to tell me (also said to look on the fightnews website):

Gary O'Sullivan beat Matthew Hall pts 12 rds
Liam Walsh beat Domenico Urbano TKO 8 rds
Ronnie Heffron beat Peter McDonagh pts 8 rds
Bradley Saunders beat KevinMcCauley pts 6 rds

BoxRec do seem to have lost a lot of credibility unfortunately.

They were suspended after the event though, the fight took place whilst LBF were still under the EBU banner.

You are correct all a bit confusing all I can say is lets wait and see if the EBU reinstate Lux Box

Tommorow ESPN will post new ratings. I wonder if they will include the result on Haye's record?

I'm surprised they don't put it as a win for haye then leave a note saying "Bout unsanctioned by the BBBoC but sanctioned by LBF who were then suspended from the EBU" increasingly annoyed with BoxRec attitude to this.

They wouldn't dare, the BBBofC would be mad at them.

In my opinion criticism of Boxrec is unfair because at the end of the day they take the view that they will only post results etc on sanctioned/licensed shows and since Lux Box have been suspended/kicked out of the EBU this show is classed as unlicensed Just the same as White Collar etc I am sure that Boxrec would correct this and post the results if and when Lux Box are reinstated by the EBU as far as I am aware the Board do not own Boxrec and have no say in What Boxrec do and say etc as I said at the beginning it is my opinion and as always I respect anybody elses view on the matter

I read it but it doesnt make much sense. I'm sure if you sat in on a WBA rankings meeting they would be able to try and justify everything, but it wouldnt mean a lot outside that small world, in fact people would laugh at it like they are at this.

Bottom line is Haye and Chisora are both active world level pro boxers boxing for a pro boxing promoter on a pro boxing show.

The rest is just a beauracratic squabble against the best interests of the sport and it is damaging Boxrec.

I partially agree with this but at the time the show went ahead the LBF were members of the EBU so to me it was a legit show. The WBU and WBF are no longer recognised by the BBBOC so should all boxers who have fought for these trinkets now have their records amended? Ricky Hatton would be about 5 and 2 then now (tongue firmly in cheek).

Yes I fully see where you are coming from the LBF were suspended after the show had actually taken place so IMO the EBU could and should have either suspended Lux Box before the show or just left it alone The Ebu have a lot to answer for in respect of the situation as it is now which again IMO quite frankly ludicrous Oh by the way IMO means in my opinion and is not another sanctioning body for Bunny and Bruce to present a belt for Ha HA

Don't give them any ideas FFS!!!! :)

I'm curious as to why they were not banned before the show too. Perhaps they were scared into it with law suits etc. Could it also have something to do with Charlie Giles being Chairman of the BBBOC and vice chairman of the EBU thus creating a slight conflict of interest I.e would he use his position of authority within the EBU to gain ground for the BBBOC?

Either way I have to say as long as the LBF were affiliated with a proper governing organisation the records should be kept and documented accordingly.

Good Points as far as the WBF and any other alphabet body You are correct the Board dont recognise these titles much the same as the British Masters the board just class them as 12 round or 10 round contests and nothing more but that doesnt mean the contest carnt take place If Promotors want to sell these belts/Contests to gullible Punters as World Titles/British Titles etc that is a matter for them and them alone it is just that the board choose not to recognise them as titles Throughout the world over the last 20 odd years there has been loads of the Sanctioning bodies set up which are mostly nothing more than a Phone/fax and a bank account to collect money and supply belts of varying quality to a variety of Promotors looking to put "title" fights on their advertising material and IMO I personally am sick and tired of this proliferation of interim international and "World and National" titles which are being banded about today and IMO are devaluing our once great sport
