Are we now going to pick apart the tiny details on fights that members of team gb have won? They've got through in a couple of close ones granted but they have also won moar well. You can hear the difference in volume when a brit fights, those who have been will know its even louder than it seems on tv and it will sway judges slightly on punches that may or may not be totally clean.

Conspiracy it is not.

Judges are meant to score on punches landed not crowd noise...They are meant to use their eyes...

And it's hard nit picking when a guy wins a round that he simply didn't possibly win

Also I did point out Luke Campbell almost got shafted so I'm not with the conspiracy theory.

Amusing how Woodhall wasnt banging on about getting points penalties for constant holding, like him and McNeily do for other nations boxers. Funny that. Close fight but yet again Ogogo lucks out, in my opinion.

Ogogo won the match, the german was too slow to land much, Ogogo was too quick in foot and hand, but he does seem to slow after good starts and his chin is in question, though Ogogo makes up for it with good movement, speed and skill, if he starts to believe in himself, he could get gold. Never thought I would see English people moaning about a German losing to an Englishman.

We get the benefit of slow mo's and numerous replays, they have very fast flurries and have to pick a shot, confirm all in a few seconds all with a few thousand people screaming with each punch. All I'm saying is that its easy to get swayed. Ogogo won that fight clearly.

Not many shots seem to be landing clean in the 3 min rounds. They seem to be partially blocked most of the time or landing with the wrong part of the glove. Ogogo has a tight defence so it does appear that he keeps more clean shots off than he might actually do.

I'm a bit tipsy but I thought Ogogo won that fight.

I never said he didn't win, I just can't understand how he managed to win round 3 which is relevant to the thread title of 'The officials for these olympics have being a disgrace'

The officials for every Olympics are a disgrace! It's what happens in amateur boxing. At every tournament. Not just those held in Britain ( which some seem to be hinting at )

Yep he was shocking in that last round, could of easily gone the other way, with 30 seconds left he was boxing like he was 10 points clear, how can he judge that so badly it was incredible

He did box like a dick for that final minute. No way he lost the 2nd by 3 though so the decision is right

Conlan got lucky too. Seems to have gone under the radar.

Agreed with this post. Didn't have a clue what he was doing in the last 30 seconds - he had even asked if I'm not mistaken before the 3rd round how many he was ahead so it wasn't like he could have thought he was coasting. However the 2nd round was scored strangely, and I think overall he did enough.

Only tuned in for the last round of the fight before, when the decision went against the French bloke - that one seemed a bit controversial, did he appeal?

Didn't see that fight myself so can't really pass comment but unless it is Team GB then it doesn't count as controversial.

I've worked out how amateur scoring works, 5 judges watch the fight intently then at the end of the round someone picks 2 random numbers out of a bag and the boxers are awarded that score

I am surprised to see that neither the Joshua v Cotilla or Ogogo v Kyhtrov matches were said to have any sort of controversy about them in this weeks BN ... hmmm .. did the wise sages of BN think they were fair decisions?

There was however a piece by Teddy Atlas mentioning these games are damaging the sport with the silly decisions. He goes as far as saying these London games are the worse yet for boxing. From what I have seen .. he is spot on yet again.

If Joshua and Ogogo are lucky enough to get a gold .. even if they deserve the verdicts in these later fights. It will be very hollow success as far as I am concerned after the gift decision they each recieved on their way to the final.
As far as I am concerned. The best man in both contests was not moved forward.

Does that extend itself to all fighters that have benefitted from dodgy decisions ( such as Michael Conlan? ) or is it simply restricted to these two lads?

Seems Joshua and Ogogo are attracting more grief than the other fighters who have had decisions go their way. Why is that? Is it their nationality? Their colour? Hard to understand.

I hope the pair of them go on and win gold and enjoy all the trappings an Olympic Gold can give to a young fighter turning pro.
Of course I feel for their opponents, Savon especially, who both deserved to win their fights with the two British lads but I'm not blaming the winners, it's the officials fault.
