Great entertainment but great comic timing?

It came across..

"Coz he..er..if I was a plumber...NO I mean he'll need a plumber, no..erm..TEN plumbers to fix...no....I mean his gay lover Tony plumber...erm..Bellew...if he calls me any names...his big stiff Liverpool plumbing...um...and that midget is..ah..small and..er...."

Splutter rant etc

Sorry but Louis CK he ain't.
It was nothing like that at all. You will never make it as a discourse analyst.

When you say what he did - it could come across as menacing and unpleasant or it could be funny which is a much harder task unless you have good comic timing which Fury has.
Yeah, comic timing, THAT'S what Tyson has.

(tuts, raises eyes, shakes head).

What happened last night is a mike was shoved in front of a large idiot.

He unsurprisingly spluttered out a load of staggeringly juvenile invective.

And what made this funny?

Two things.

1) That his mouth was working twice as fast as his tiny brain, so for the most part, it made no sense (unless the 10 plumbers remark was actually some new form of Vic & Bob-style surrealist comedy).

2) That this gibberish was delivered while he was wearing a hat that looked like the kind they stick on the heads of unfortunate kids battling some terrible disease.

As I said, I DID laugh, but wit and 'comic timing' had absolutely nothing to do with my laughter.

I'll never make it as a discourse analyst?

Well that's just something I'm going to have to live with.

Fury's other follow-up vid. Love the bit at the end - "You pair of tossers"!! Hahaha.

Quality stuff Tyson.
Nice to see that with time to reflect Tyson can reply in a more mature, considered, intelligent and articulate manner

It didn't amuse you in the way it was intended - fine - it amused many others for that reason, just have a read of the posts on here - why do I care.

Your description of what was said was way off and that was my main point. The second point is that very few can make a threat of doing someone great harm and make it funny - that requires comic timing - wherever you like it or not or disagree - who gives a shit?

I'm sure Orlando Cruz was glad to see the homophobic comments made against a fellow professional!

All in all, it was a bit funny but it does show that, like many fighters who have a microphone shoved in their face, the mouth runs before it engages the brain.

Good comeback by Price though, i'd imagine that would rile Fury more than an aggressive one

I guess so.

I akways think of homophobia as hatred towards gay people, but i guess it comes in many guises.

Aye, loads of ways for it to come out. It makes it an unwelcoming environment

Despite the banter about the football as Bomber is a Bluenose and Price is a Red!!. But Price will beat the bejesus out of Fury in my eyes.

As much as I want to see that fight, don't think I'll be in attendance. It was kicking off a fair bit from the footage on the tv during the mcphilibin fight

JLD went for the celebration afterwards with the crowd roaring only to see them all cheering the fight going off in the arena.

I'm not surprised.

The fight going on in the crowd HAD to have been better than the mess inside the ring.

The highlight of that was McPhilbin's choice of George Formby's 'I'm leaning on the lamp-post" for his entrance.

It went right down the nick after that.

Tyson Fury is a douche.

He was British Champion and the Price fight was mandatory. He vacated instead of fight Price. Now suddenly, because Price has mentioned him in an interview, Fury is the hard-man wanting to defend his honour.

When Price was dropped from Sky, and looking for another channel to fight on, I don't remember Fury calling him out then. Now he's on allegedly, suddenly Fury is desperate to make the fight?

Why is the actual name of a channel filtered to become "Allegedly Channel"? That seems a bit weird.

Spank Warren has tried lawsuits in the past against Boxrec or it's memeber I believe (it states so on his wikipedia page)

Therefore everytime someone mentions his name or channel it changes to 'allegedly'
