Current news is drugs, corruption etc in sport, so naturally media threw SBW/Botha in the mix for extra mileage.

That's another thing that's annoying me, all the talk every night of cheating in Aussie sports. They made it sound like is was 1 out of every two Aussie sportsman was a drugs cheat and now it's down to a couple of afl players and players from possibly 6 NRL teams. It must be a nightmare watching the sports news in Oz. Or am I just being a whinging pom? (Don't answer that).

There are more AFL than NRL players involved.

The referee claims that before the fight he was informed by Philip Holiday, a member of Botha's team, that Botha was approached to take a dive.
This doesn't make Holiday's claims accurate or inaccurate.

It does prove Botha didn't just make up the bribe story as an afterthought as a lot of people were concluding though.

If holiday made these comments, it lends more weight towards it being legit than to the contrary.

Not many of us know much about Botha. But we do know Nasser's reputation. Enough said.
