'ZIGGY'S BACK, SCORES KNOCKOUT'

Dave Zyglewicz (195 lbs.) was back in action, defending his Texas Heavyweight
Championship against 'Cowboy' Willis Earls on Tuesday Night.

'Ziggy' who was put to sleep in '96-Seconds' by Heavyweight Champion Joe Frazier back
in April, returned with an impressive knockout victory.

Things didn't go so well in the 1st-Round, as Earls (197 lbs.) was able to catch Zyglewicz with
an assortment of lefts and rights to the forehead, and chin. But, instead of fighting Round 2 with
the same style, Earls abandoned his 1st-Round success, and got in close to Zyglewicz and tried
to exchange with the muscular power puncher. Zyglewicz was able to rip hard body punches that
slowly wore Earls down, and eventually bent him in half near the end of the Round. Then Ziggy
landed 'two' hard hooks and a chopping right hand that dropped Earls at the {2:55 Mark}.

Under Texas Boxing rules, a fighter must rise before the 10-Count, even if the Bell Sounds ending
the Round. But Willis Earls could not get up, and was counted out at 3:05 of Round 2.

Dave Zyglewicz successfully defended his Texas Heavyweight Championship, and the 25 year-old
improved his record to 29-2-0 (16 KO's).

Dave Zyglewicz, 'I planned on fighting with the same style that got me '28' wins, and forgot about
letting everbody tell me to box more. I'm not a boxer, I'm a slugger. Two more wins, and I'll be
right back in the thick of things.'

In his previous bout, took Jerry Quarry 10-Rounds, and had him down on one knee.

He could whack.

The bout before that, he buckled Sonny Liston's knee's in the 1st Round, before getting
KO'd in Round 2.

No easy Cowboy.

But he lost those fights; what was his (proper) record?

listed as a 'Hard-Punching' Club Fighter.

Nobody knows the exact count....

The 'site' Fight Poster when he fought Sonny Liston in Ciudad Juarez had him named as
the Texas Heavyweight 'Knockout Artist' with '16-Wins' and (13 KO's).

'ZIGGY RETURNS TO TROY, BUT NOT MET IN RING WITH A POLITE GREETING'

Dave 'Ziggy' Zyglewicz, the popular brawling Heavyweight who fought Joe Frazier
just 4-Months ago returned to his home base in upstate New York. 'Ziggy' was
greeted by 5000 smiling fans at the Troy Arena, to cheer him on in his return
bout in New York.

The muscular Zyglewicz, a 25 year-old slugger with power in both fists, was here
to add to his impressive 29-2-0 record, and entertain his loyal upstate New York
fans. But, Dave was not met with the same happy greeting in the ring by his
opponent Charlie Polite, a journeyman from nearby Springield, Massachusetts
who out-punched 'Ziggy' to win a 10-Round Unanimous Decision.

'Ziggy' (193 lbs.) was too wild in trying to score a quick knockout for his fans, and
pounded the bigger Massachusetts Heavyweight (204 lbs.) with an assortment of
heavy body punches, and hooks. Though he won the early rounds, Zyglewicz
looked winded by the end of Round 3, as he was breathing hard.

The journeyman Polite, withstood the heavy punches from the stocky Zyglewicz,
and started to put together some sharp punching combinations in the middle
Rounds, as repeatedly bounced punches of off Ziggy's chin.

By Round 8, Zyglewicz' face was reduced to a bruised melon, as Polite landed hard
left jabs and right crosses. And, only the courage of Zyglewicz allowed him to last out
the 9th and 10th rounds, as he reeled about on unsteady legs.

'Ziggy' who was cleverly guided to challenge for the World Heavyweght Championship,
saw his record drop to 29-3-0. Zyglewicz had both his pride and face badly bruised by
his opponents fists, as well as his expected victory here in upstate New York.

Dave Zyglewicz, 'I guess I'll take some time off now, and keep away from boxing. I've been
in the gym too long, and it has taken a toll on me. I tried to make my fans happy, and
went for the knockout, but he could take a real good punch. I gave it my best effort, but
Charlie was the better man. Maybe I'll get back in the ring someday, but I don't know.'

Charlie Polite improved his record to 11-10-3.
