I have heard this too. I don't know. I used to hang about with a couple of families of Romany Travelers as a yout and they were horrible bastards. But I dunno, sometimes the fights you think there will be murders at are the most friendly. Haye-Chisora was the most good natured crowd I've seen at a boxing match, when going in I was glad I was sitting next to a mate who is a bouncer. There were some Irish traveller kids at Froch-Kessler (Joyces) who were funny as f*ck. They were cheering Kessler!ILikeBeer wrote:Don't Tyson Fury fans have a reputation for liking a punch up after the fight?clopixolacuphase wrote:Also Fury is not really tied to Channel 5. They have been very non committal about showing boxing and seem to have a fight by fight thing going with Fury now, so it'll be 100% on PPV.
I don't really care anyway as I will be at the actual fight. The atmosphere will be worth the ticket fee alone.

I'm going purely on reputation/witness account. I've never been to a Tyson Fury fight.clopixolacuphase wrote:I have heard this too. I don't know. But I've noticed a lot since Fury has been on Channel Five, there is often people in the front row watching stuff happening close to them rather than the fight itself. Which is kind of suspicious. But then, maybe Tyson Fury has a group of female fans that like to streak.

I was ringside for Fury v Chisora a couple of years back. There was a mini entourage of traveler's not too far from where I was sat. Even though he was fighting later on, during the undercard, Tyson came out and hung around them for a large part of it. Looked so relaxed you wouldn't think the guy would be fighting later in what was then his biggest fight (one in which he was the underdog). His cousin, Phil Fury was on the undercard - and they were all cheering him on. He lost on points and they didn't react violently or aggressively at all.
A couple of them were bodybuilder-types wearing wife-beaters, and they were getting a bit close to the ring and involved during the main fight - but didn't do anything dodgy, and there was no crowd fighting that I could see.

I mean nothing on then what I've said. What confused you?Benelio wrote: Not sure what you mean by that exactly.
I've never been to a Tyson Fury fight, so I don't know how true the rumours of fan punch-ups are. That's all.
Re: FURY VS HAYE
Just that the people not watching the fight on the front row being suspicious. Yeah, I see what you mean actually. Though I think this happens in every fight. Seems like a lot of the people in the front rows often aren't boxing fans. I wonder how many end up being corporate tickets and freebies?ILikeBeer wrote:

I remember that prior to the fight with Groves, DeGale was ringside at pretty much every one of allegedly'shows. Looked like he wasn't interested in the fights and spent the night playing with his phone.

What I meant was they often turn their heads to either side, and aren't watching the ring. They must be watching something else. As if there's a fight or some such incident there.Benelio wrote: Just that the people not watching the fight on the front row being suspicious. Yeah, I see what you mean actually. I had this feeling Hatton was going to lose from the very beginning, so I was never interested in the fight and forgot it was on. I remember finding out from other people it was on that night and trying to find a pub showing it. I spoke to the landlord of one of the more popular pubs that shows sports and he told me it wasn't worth paying the fee to show the fight: that nobody was really all that bothered.ILikeBeer wrote:If it is Box Office, there is absolutely no way I am paying for this. It's not a pay-per-view worthy fight. I purchased Froch vs Kessler because I felt that would be the biggest fight of the year. Two world class fighters going against each other doesn't happen often enough in boxing any more. I purchased Ricky Hatton's comeback on Prime Time too, as I was curious to see how he would perform and thought he was at least fighting somebody who might win.
Haye vs Fury will be entertaining in it's on way, but is in no way pay-per-view worthy. Fury just isn't in Haye's class, and no amount of pre-fight talk between the two is going to convince me otherwise. There are pubs locally to me that sometimes order boxing PPVs, and I'd rather watch this in the pub and spend more than £15 on beer than I would pay £15 for this.
I guarantee they will pay the fee to show Haye-Fury. And I guarantee people will be bothered. Same as when I used to live in Finsbury Park. The world's End bought in Haye-Klitschko, and some of my mates who turned up late couldn't even get in through the door it was that rammed. This is PPV. But you're right in your assessment that it's not competitive.
This is like Haye-Audley, where loads of people got themselves ramped up that Audley had a chance. He did not. Tyson will not be frightened like Audley, but being frightened like Audley will mean he has more chance of surviving. If Fury somehow improved and worked on a gameplan then this could be an ugly fight: Haye does not go toe to toe with men over 6'4" and Fury's only hope is to keep Haye outside with a jab and Klitshko his way to victory. Nothing I have seen of him so far (and I have seen pretty much every Fury fight since he first fought McDermmott) suggests Fury has either the skills or the temperament to do this. Fury is going to have to dig in and make David Haye fight, and David Haye is not Kevin Johnson. He is going to punch Fury back VERY hard. I can't even remember Fury ever being in with a puncher. *checks Boxrec* yup. In Fury's last seven fights the only person he has fought with a KO percentage higher than 50% is Vinny effing Maddalone. There is a reason for this matchmaking. He can't hold a punch for sh*t boys. He's going to sleep.
World's End in Finsbury Park also bought in Haye - Chisora as that's where I ended up watching it after The Faltering Fullback and the Old Dairy weren't showing it.

All great boozers. Well, World's End isn't the best, but I liked it. I also watched Haye-Ruiz in there when it wasn't so full, but I ended up watching the fight with a couple of Algerian geezers. Was a good time. Old Dairy used to be my local! Fullback is one of the nicest pubs in North London I think. The World's end was standing room only for Haye - Chis, luckily I got there early enough for a great table and view.

"Bring it on," Fury told the Daily Star. "David Haye is by far the best heavyweight in Britain so forget David Price - I want Haye next.
"I am ready to take on the best in Britain and that is David Haye, and if I beat him I will be the best - 100% guaranteed."
"I have no interest whatsoever in David Price," Fury continued. "He is well back in the queue as far as I am concerned.
"I took on Dereck Chisora, who was unbeaten, and took the British belt off him and now I will take on the best again - Haye.
"I have been after him for a few years and now, hopefully, it will happen. It is a fight I have always wanted."
"I see a fight with Haye as a big fight and we are agreeable for that fight to happen. There is only one reason that fight won't happen - and it won't be our fault." said Peter Fury

Tyson Fury has done a nice little smoke and mirrors job there as regards David Price. He's be perfectly happy to not ever have to risk it in the ring with him.

I rate Fury higher and right now its obvious Price isn't operating at Fury's level but, I do think Price could well knock him out. Maybe if Haye knocks Fury out and Price beats Thompson they might face off? Lots of ifs and maybes there though as I still don't think Haye-Fury will happen.

The way I hear it, Fury has three possibilities right now. Haye, Adamek and Pulev, who is still in the picture. Dunno if this has been posted yet. From Haye's reaction I'd suggest nothing has even been discussed yet let alone signed.

Haye didn't look like he was off down the gym. I thought he was out on the piss until he said that!

Excellent fight if it comes off, fair play to Haye for seeking this one out.
I think Fury's too open and Hayes power will tell, if the fight happens
