It was a lopsided shutout for one reason - Haye did absolutely sod all and Wlad did a little bit more; it wasnt a Calzaghe v Lacy style fight. People who put that down as a wlad domination must be either a wlad fan or a haye hater. It was a piss poor performance by both the only reason wlad isnt getting ripped to shreds for his performance is because people remember haye doing all the talking, then see the points margins and expected wlad to be safety first / boring anyway.

Valuev had nowhere near the mobility or boxing ability that Wlad possesses. Valuev was basically a giant lump who didnt punch particularily hard and just came forward very slowly.

It seems from Peter & Tyson Fury's tweets over the past hour that this is very much ON.

Peter says he has held productive talks with Adam Booth today and have ironed out the issues he had a problem with; and that he agreed Adam would announce to the press.

Wlad did the running he threw a couple of jabs then jumped back out of range and didnt engage; he controlled the fight in that manor but I highly doubt his plan was to let it go the distance and have haye walk out without a mark on him then sit there in the interview with a black eye himself. Even vitali was pissed at him for his lack of aggression because they wanted to do haye some damage.

This is pretty fair.

Wlad could not hit Haye, and when haye hit Wlad he was rocked, especially in the last round. I think on a different night, or a rematch, Haye would put more pressure on and we would have a better fight, but the whole 12 rounds they were both safety first, just that Haye's game plan was all about the 1 or 2 punch knockout. For all its faults I did enjoy watching Haye's superb head movement always just out of range from Wlad's shots.

On the topic of Haye vs Fury, I suppose we only have prior evidence to go on.

Contrary to what some may read into my posts, I'm not dismissive of David Haye.
I'm just not convinced he should be as highly rated as others obviously do.

Having said that, he does show some very good footwork, lateral movement, and handspeed, as you would expect from a fighter who spent much of his career in the cruiserweight division.
I also think he does pack a good punch.

The two large fellows he's fought couldn't have been more different.
Valuev was a painfully slow, lumbering fighter with non-existent footwork, lateral movement, handspeed, and the ability to put together a decent combination. He has also demonstrated an almost total lack of ability to slip punches.
Klitschko was actually quite athletic, and shows good movement for a bigger heavyweight. Whilst he rarely puts a lot of combinations together, he does have the ability to do so when he thinks it is necessary. Something I noticed when Wlad fought David, and which was picked up by the commentators on more than one occasion, was that David seemed surprised by the speed of Wlads long jab.

Now, Fury is nowhere near Wlad, but is certainly better than Valuev.

This is one of those fights that can go either way.
I suspect that it will be a case of David blasting him out early, or Fury simply weathering it and leaning all over Haye in spoiling fashion.
One thing I am surprised at is the lack of the use of uppercuts when in closing in on David.
Perhaps Fury would be well served trying that if it goes into the corner or on the ropes.

I'm leaning toward a Haye victory, simply because he's faster and much the better boxer and ring technician.
Fury has proven to be quite easy to hit, to put it mildly.
Yet, Fury does have his own basic, rough-edged strengths.

Of course, I may be wrong.
