Froch is not going to be troubled once in this fight.

There won't be any difference in Groves' power in this fight when compared to his other fights. No fighter suddenly doesn't hit as hard when they reach world level and there are still good chins and bad chins. The difference is that they land less. Groves has the power to hurt Froch, it's down to whether he can land consistently enough to worry Froch with the power, because it's hard to see him being taken out with one shot.

As a separate point, Carl Froch is 36 years old, age will catch up with him eventually and he's been in a lot of tough fights.

I really do rate Groves and do give him a chance in this one, but Froch is the better fighter for me and my money would be on carl.

i regularly see people saying, "this guy wins all day long!" or "this guy doesn't have a chance against that guy."
i don't buy into that, i see things as percentages and this probably a 60/40 fight for froch in my opinion. if they fought ten times....well you can do the maths
grove has a chance but i wouldn't fancy him too strongly to get the win.

but anyone who looks at these 2 fighters and their respective attributes and states plainly that either guy has no chance, is daft in my opinion. i've seen too many shocks in this sport to think that a relatively close fight like this is goiung to be a whitewash.

I think Groves is a quality fighter who is getting better all the time but Froch is a tough bastard to beat! He would of definietly been better served getting a fight with say Stieglitz or Abraham and then depending on how he fared then went after Carl and gave it his best shot! I still think Froch would win but it's no disgrace losing to Froch.

If Froch smashed Groves about in sparring then he may well imagine that things will be the same; I can imagine that George went in with a World Champion with a sparring partners' mentality; come fight time though he is there to do his level best for himself and his family; he'll put what he has in to it.

It's going to be fun but unless Froch suddenly got old I find it hard to see George making the final bell, and I say that as a fan of both.

I have this hunch still that Degale will win a title first, and if Froch really does a number on George (which is very likely) then Groves might not come back too well.
