Couldn't believe his journeyman comment and how he was saying 'not many getting through from Maziel here' when he was landing loads of shots. I think he said it at one point 3 seconds after Rose had his head rocked right back.

I disagree with that. I felt Rose was more accurate (granted Maciel was the aggressor and had the powerful punches) but it was hardly a dodgy decision.
The boxer beat the crude puncher with boxing! It happens.

I figure since the scores were posted 4 times already I might as well make it 5.

Rose is a nice, technical boxer but he cant break an egg in all honesty and the scores were kind to him tonight. I think Maciel was missing quite wildly at times from loading up which maybe affected the judges scorecards but look at both of the fighters faces and it's clear that Rose come off second best.

That wont work with Andrade who I think will win his next fight. Andrade has better boxing ability than Rose and hits a lot harder.

Maybe so, but Rose just won the biggest fight of his life and his confidence will be sky high. He will think he can beat anyone just now and he's got this far, I am looking forward to it.

I think Maciel reacted unfavourably, pretty sure thats what the boos were for. Could be wrong though

Are these big burly minders that walk the fighters to the ring really needed in a lot of cases? It's very rare that someone tries to smack a boxer.

Well done Rose...not sure where 117-111 came from though.
It was a close fight and one which I wouldn't have argued with either way but I think Rose was far more accurate and Maciel was swinging wildly and clearly tired himself out which affected his overall performance.

Fair play to Paul. A lot of people would have gone down from that body shot in the middle of the round.

first round gone and Butlin still hasn't threw his right hand yet. Talk about ambition

I wouldn't pay him for that. Why turn up if you aren't going to throw a right hand?

Joshua really needs to work on his upper body physique if he is to go anywhere in this game.

Butler wasnt exactly doing a great job of getting out of the way of punches though or even trying to land power punches himself.

A vastly superior boxer can nullify your skills so much, that you just cannot throw anything. Decent stuff from Joshua. He does what He does very well indeed.
