If this fight was made for the British title, i'd be disappointed and demanding to know why they had ducked Lee Haskins or Paul Bulter.

The fact that it is for a world title strap is beyond comprehension.

in fact, even in the world of ridiculous titles and rankings, having the 2nd and 5th best bantamweights in Britain contesting a world title takes the fornicating biscuit!

The funny thing is, this is actually a competitive match up, i believe this is a lose-able fight for hall
What wouldn't have been a good match up would have been if Hall had actually taken on someone in the top 15 in the world.

I hear what you are saying mate, i'm just looking at the fight on face value.

Forget any politics involved, this is two lads who will put it all on the line in a very hostile atmosphere (Darlo v Newcastle) which i believe will be a very hard fight for both and is by no means a given for either fighter.

I'm actually a fan of lee haskins as well, i was there when he beat stuey and i genuinely feel for the guy.

Just focus on the fight for now....who knows what will happen in the future.

i genuinely think its a tougher match than you think mate and a good fight.

I'm not into getting into internet arguements but what makes you think it won't be great fight for the fans? Imagine being there...darlo v newcastle, two local lads with support even from both sides, i think it will be great!!

Stuey admits he was lucky...but what can he do? all he can do is fight the people he is put in front of.

Ah another one that has never been in a ring, if you had been at the Haskins hall fight you would know that hall was ripped off as ring magazine said hall had the first five rounds and everyone there saw Hall smash him in the last three rounds even haskins fans thought he had lost the fight. Only reason haskins really got the nod was the Tyson fans would have wrecked the place. Haskins should have been given at least two warnings for low blows he is seriously dirty fighter.

Yeah annhialated him in those last rounds didn't he. And Hall when the scores were being read, you could see he thought he had won it.

That is of course if you face away from the screen and ignore what actually went on in this fight. Hall did have a decent 12th and last minute to the 11th tho.

I even spoke to loads of haskins fans that thought haskins lost the fight.

Rules of the forum stopped me adding to my last post, but the whole arena that was watching the Haskins hall fight thought haskins lost, and when you are ringside as I was you can see the scoring punches. The ref was appalling allowing Haskins to punch low and, as he always does punch whilst holding. Haskins was out on his feet at the end. Haskins is a dirty fighter who has been allowed to get away with dirty tactics for to long.
People slag hall off all the time and don't rate him, this happens a lot and its mostly by people who have never been near the inside of a boxing ring armchair warriors who know nothing

I was ringside for Hall/McDonnell as I was for the Ceja, Pozo & Jamoye fights.

It was a very close fight, but I thought McDonnell won reasonably clearly with workrate and movement, particularly in the latter rounds. Hall can punch hard, much harder than a lot of people give him credit for but at times he was loading up and that's what cost him the fight, single [harder] shots versus volume and movement. Great fight though. If anything, the Jamoye fight was much closer in my eyes, I thought he lost that one.

I thought Hall looked very good on the undercard to McDonnell/Ceja too.

Hall looked a beaten man at the end, no celebration from him and Al Bernstein had Haskins winning comfortably by at least 4 rounds. The judges are ringside too, closer than you were and they all had Haskins winning by wide margins.

I was literally the front row for the Jamoye fight. Good bout. Really enjoyed it.

Surprise surprise with over 2000 Tyson/haskins supporters and a ref that constantly allowed haskins to hold and punch and to punch below the belt on a regular basis also constantly ducking his head below belt level which is against the rules the place would have been smashed to pieces if it had gone to hall, and it would have been mayhem if it had kicked off due to the lack of safe entrances/exits. The atmosphere in the arena was intimidating with large groups leaving before the end to avoid any trouble can't imagine that the judges would have ever been stupid enough to give it to hall.

Nick I'v posted coverage of part of the fight and it goes completely against what you were saying about that part of the fight before I posted this. So how can anyone possibly take a word you are saying seriously.

Haskins won the fight deservedly. And everyone bar yourself and about 3 people you spoke to agree.

There would have been no riot if Hall had won and the atmosphere was not intimidating.

Footage from tv often fail to show how the fight goes you have to be there to see all the low blows and actual punches that score.

I can assure you Fury fans would not have kicked off if Hall got it. Fury has a lot more friends in Darlington than Bristol.
